“Crowned Again “— a makeup class designed to provide survivors with basic tips and techniques on how to apply makeup in a safe, supportive space.
Participants will be able to follow along and engage at their own comfort levels, with the sole purpose of reminding fellow ladies:
They are seen. Worthy. And still themselves after trauma. We are looking for donations to help us get this going for our survivors living in emergency shelter.

I am truly grateful to National Hook-Up of Black Women, Inc Volusia County Chapter for the opportunity to serve as a the key-note speaker and encourage such an inspiring group of young leaders. It was an honor to pour into the next generation and share a message about standing firmly in your purpose and boldly walking in the path that God has designed for your life.

A message to the youth your voices matter, your dreams matter, and your purpose is already within you. Continue to support one another, lift each other up, and fix each other’s crowns when they may tilt. The world needs your brilliance, leadership, and compassion. Each person in the room received a CROWN of purpose , gratitude, royalty, love and empowerment .

Call to Action : If you see your sister or brother’s crown tilted fix it.

Thank you again to the organization for trusting me with this moment and allowing me to be a part of such a powerful mission of empowerment, mentorship, and sisterhood. I am grateful for the work you do to uplift and develop our youth into confident leaders.

A kid from Gary, Indiana is about to lead the largest physician organization in the country!

Dr. Willie Underwood III, a board-certified urological surgeon and proud alum, will be inaugurated as the American Medical Association president this June, making him only the second Black man to hold the position in the organization's nearly 180-year history.

With 25+ years in urologic surgery, 120+ peer-reviewed publications, and patents for co-developing a prostate cancer biomarker, Dr. Underwood has spent his career not just practicing medicine but fighting to make it more equitable.
