Halifax Health reported an uptick in trauma-related admissions during the 2026 Daytona Beach Bike Week, admitting 120 patients compared to 114 during last year’s event. Despite this increase, admissions specifically linked to Bike Week declined slightly, with 51 cases this year versus 57 in 2025. Motorcycle crashes during the ten‑day event also saw a minor rise, with 75 incidents recorded, up from 73 the previous year.

“Our trauma team showed outstanding skill and compassion,” said Lindsay Duffy, Director of Nursing for the Halifax Health - Emergency Department. “With more than 135 total Trauma Activations, it’s been another incredibly busy Bike Week for our Emergency team. At Halifax Health, we’re always ready to respond, and Bike Week continues to be a key moment for delivering the expert care our community relies on,” Duffy added.

Early detection saves lives, and screening is the most powerful tool we have!
Colorectal cancer is now the leading cause of cancer death in men and women under 50. But this cancer is highly treatable when found early, yet too many people delay getting screened.

Talk with your healthcare provider now about the new screening tests available.

What an incredible day on the course! Swings for Cancer once again brought our community together in support of the Charles L. And Miki N. Grant Cancer Center for Hope at Halifax Health ⛳

Thanks to the generosity of the members of Sugar Mill Country Club, our sponsors, and volunteers, this year’s event was a tremendous success. Every swing taken: golf, pickleball, tennis, and Mahjong, made a difference for compassionate care right here at home.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who participated and supported our patients with cancer. Because of you, hope continues to grow 💙

Recently, our Trauma Team at Halifax Health was honored to join the American Legion Riders Summit for the Survive the Ride program - an important initiative focused on reducing Florida’s high motorcycle fatality rate through education and training 🏍️

Our Team Members provided hands-on Stop the Bleed training for riders, and Dr. Janeen Jordan, UF Health Director of Trauma Services at Halifax Health, participated in a panel of trauma care leaders to discuss Bike Week trends and strategies to prevent motorcycle-related injuries.

We are proud to partner with organizations that share our commitment to keeping our community safe on the road.

Halifax Health is honored to be supported by more than 50 dedicated Stitch N Knit volunteers!

In the past year alone, they have created over 12,000 comfort items for our patients, including lap quilts, pressure pillows, cardio pouches, stuffed animals, busy buddies, neck pillows, lovies, and caps, mitts, and booties for our tiniest patients!

Some volunteers create these items in our Stitch N Knit workshop on the second floor of the Fountain Tower, while many generously give their time and talents from home-all to bring added comfort and care to our community 💙
