MCCD residents will be handing out candy to the trick or treaters on Friday,October 31, from 5pm to 6:30 pm. The residents are so excited for Halloween night trick-or-treaters so bring them out and put smiles on our residents faces .

It’s getting that time of year for trick-or-treaters ,October 31 is a week from tomorrow so we’re asking if anyone can donate bags of candy for our trick-or-treaters for our residents to pass out on Halloween night thank you in advance for your donation and for all the others things that you do for our residents . Candy can be brought and dropped off in activities or front office. Thanks again.

Today Summer and Ashleigh with Gentiva Hospice came today and did glamour shots with our residents so here are a few of the snapshots. We did get them ready for their photo shoot .Each resident got a photo to take with them to their room so family can see their photo

Our first place winner in our decoration contest is Scooby Doo the van decorated by Rod Odom, India Whittle and Anna Holmes.

This has been our fall festival week at the nursing home, staff has put a lot of time and the fall decorations out in front of our facility. Yesterday we had Mr. Harold Beebee to bring his cookers and cook for the residents and staff todayresidents went outside for music, fun, games, and refreshments, staff play games ,danced and enjoyed an afternoon of laughter with our residents. Rhonda with Compassus Hospice brought drinks and cookies, what a way to end our fall festival week. Now it’s time for us to get ready for trick-or-treaters.. thank you to all who helped our residents enjoy time outside.

Mr Harold Beebee came today with his grilling machine n smoked Boston Butts, ribs and leg quarters for residents and staff. Delicious and tasty , he and Rod did an amazing job grilling. Thanks so much for the delicious meal and your time thanks again and we will get you back again

Mississippi Care center of Dekalb is getting ready for our fall festival this week. staff has decorated the front our facility so come by at night and see Scooby Doo the van all lit up. We had six groups to decorate and be judged by someone outside of the facility . The winners are 1st Pl., Scooby Doo the van ,second place  is the display on the north end with scarecrow and pumpkins that were painted by the residents and third place goes to the display next with flowers and lanterns on top and pumpkins. Congratulations to the three winners and thank you for decorating and making outside look like fall

Celebrating Food Service week at Mississippi Care Center of Dekalb, I cooked philly Steak sandwiches today with all the trimmings for our dietary staff Thank you for the your hard work cooking and planning meals for our residents. We appreciate you all so much.
