Barbara Ann Chambers Bass, 83, of Westbrook, Texas, peacefully passed from this life January 30, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 8, 1942, in Arlington, Texas to Clyde M. Chambers and Ruby Ragland Chambers.

Barbara was raised in Westbrook, Texas and attended Westbrook High School. She retired from Westbrook ISD where she was employed in food service. She was a long-time member of Westbrook Baptist Church and happily cooked for the youth there many years. Barbara loved to travel. She went on many trips to Brazil for missionary work and enjoyed travelling with the Baptist Church Builders. Barbara was a faithful servant to God and allowed Him to use her life in service of others. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, special grandmother, and caring friend to many. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Calloway (Bobby), Angie Hightower (Farris) and Judy Lambard (Bruce); siblings, Vickie Koch (Rick), Robert Chambers (Christine), and Judy Hale; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Bass; son, Gary Gene Parrish, Jr., parents, Clyde and Ruby Chambers; granddaughter, Stacey Kneupper; and brother-in-law, Donnie Hale.

Graveside funeral services celebrating Barbara’s life will be held Friday, February 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in Westbrook Cemetery, Westbrook, Texas, with Minister Robert Chambers officiating.

Don Holdridge, 73, passed from this life January 20, 2026, at his home. He was born June 29, 1952, in Ft. Worth, Texas to Fred Holdridge and Merle Huddleson Holdridge. Don married his loving wife of forty years, Joni Hooks, April 26, 1985.

Don was raised in De Leon and graduated with the class of 1970. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from The University of Texas Permian Basin. He was a long-time convenience store manager for Kent Kwik and after retiring from that career in Odessa, he and Joni moved back home to De Leon in 2015. Don loved all things history. He loved to study all eras of history and was a dedicated board member of the De Leon Historical Society for many years. Don was a faithful Dallas Cowboy and Texas Ranger fan always. He enjoyed music and was active in the band and choir. Don was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, a good neighbor, and a loyal friend to many. He will be missed by all who loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Joni; daughters, Bernadette Thornton and husband, Matt, and Tori Marshall and husband, Rob; son, Derek Holdridge and wife Amanda; grandchildren, Abby Holdridge, Taylor Holdridge, Lily Marshall, Hayley Thornton, Freya Thornton, Jacob Holdridge and Kash Holdridge; two great-grandchildren; and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside funeral services will be held Monday, February 2nd, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in De Leon Cemetery with Rev. Gary Turner officiating. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to De Leon Historical Society in memory of Don.

Deborah Lee
(November 24, 1952 – December 30, 2025)

Deborah Lee passed away on December 30, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on November 24, 1952, in Gorman, Texas, she was the beloved daughter of the late Euel and Jean Westmoreland.

She is now reunited in eternal peace with her husband, Bob, and her parents.

Deborah’s memory will be cherished by her surviving family: her sons, Trey and Jesse; her daughters-in-law, Karin and Amber; and her adoring grandchildren, Gwendolyn and Theodore.

Deborah will be remembered for her vibrant spirit and the passions that brought her joy. She was a devoted fan of the Texas Rangers, rarely missing a chance to cheer them on, and she had a well-known love for all things Coca-Cola.

A service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 11:00 am at St. Joe Baptist Church in De Leon, Texas, with Brother Matt Morton officiating. Deborah's family will receive friends for visitation prior to the service from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery, Gorman.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Deborah’s name to a charity of your choice.

Carey “Don” Wilkerson, 84, left this world to join the Lord on the evening of January 20th, 2026, surrounded by the love and support of his family. Carey Don was born August 13, 1941, in Gorman, Texas to Riley and Mamie Wilkerson.

He grew up in Downing, Texas where he was a member of Downing Baptist Church. Carey Don was an accomplished landscaper, carpenter and musician. He enjoyed playing music, such as Bluegrass and Gospel with family and friends. He was no stranger to hard-work and loved being outdoors.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Sue Wilkerson; son, Jeffery Don Wilkerson; great-granddaughter, Maicynn Jane Julian; mother and father, Riley and Mamie Wilkerson; and two sisters, Cutie Johnson and Blanche Rutledge.

He leaves behind a daughter, Tracey Lynn Wilkerson of Anna, Texas; five grandchildren, Amanda Kaczor of Johnstown, N.Y., Corey James Kaczor of Johnstown, N.Y., Shelby Renee Julian and husband, Andrew D***s, of Anna, Texas, Micheal Wilkerson of Saginaw, Randell Wilkerson and wife, Ameera, of Saginaw, Texas; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and brothers, Bill Wilkerson, Bob Wilkerson, and Jack Wilkerson.

The Wilkerson family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 6-8:00 p.m. at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home, De Leon. Funeral services celebrating Carey Don’s life will be held Friday, January 30, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joe Baptist Church with Marney Wilkerson officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Marney Wilkerson, Mark Wilkerson, Layne Wilkerson, Douglas Wilkerson, Keith Wilkerson, Rowdy Wilkerson, and Nicky Don Wilkerson.

Carolyn Jean Holder, 56, passed peacefully from this life January 17, 2026. She was born January 26, 1969, in Eastland, Texas to Donald Carl Holder and Wilma Jean Martin Holder.

Carolyn was raised in Desdemona and graduated from De Leon High School in 1987. She was a helpful homemaker for her parents and loved her family very much. Carolyn also dearly loved her cats. She will be missed beyond measure by all she knew and loved.

She is survived by her parents, Donald and Wilma Holder; son, Michael Ray Phelps; brother, Donald Wayne Holder and wife, Stephanie; sister, Sherry Lynn Ables; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

Carolyn has been reunited with her grandmother, Doris Wilma Huston Martin.

Susie Ann Hall Senter, 76, peacefully passed from this life January 14, 2026, in Azle. She was born October 3, 1949, in Bowie, Arizona to Willie F. Hall and Kathern Gibson Hall. Susie married her loving husband, Dick Senter, on July 3, 1969, in Bowie, Arizona. They enjoyed a loving marriage of fifty-three years until his passing in 2022.

Dick and Susie moved to De Leon in 1987 where he took a job with De Leon ISD as a History teacher and girls athletic coach. The were long time members of De Leon First Baptist Church. Susie retired from Mid-Tex Cellular after many dedicated years as an administrator for the company. She enjoyed many hobbies including sewing, painting, and arts and crafts. She loved to spend time outdoors and her greatest joy in life was following her grandchildren to support them in all of their activities. Susie was a devoted wife, a loving and attentive mother, special sister, and adoring grandmother. She loved her family well and they will all miss her beyond measure.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Jones and Holly Hammon (Daniel); grandchildren, Matthew Jones (Jessicca), Scotty Jones, Connor Hammon (Bianca); and great-grandchild, Ezra Hammon; brothers, Willie “Bill” Hall (Earlene), Rich Hall (Joanna), Bo Hall (Joyce), and Joe Hall (Brenda); numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family. Susie has been reunited with her husband, parents, and grandson, Taylor.

Clifton Cornelius Reynolds, of De Leon, Texas, passed away on January 13, 2026. He was born on June 7, 1950, in Aspermont, Texas. Clifton lived a life defined by service, dedication, and a love for his family.

He proudly served in the United States Army, attaining the rank of Crew Chief on a medevac helicopter. During his service in the Vietnam War, he was awarded the Air Medal in 1972. Distinguishing himself by meritorious achievement while participating in sustained aerial flight in support of combat ground forces in the Republic of Vietnam. He actively participated in more than twenty-five aerial missions over hostile territory in support of operations against communist aggression.

Following his military service, Clifton worked as an ASE Certified Mechanic for General Motors throughout his life.

Clifton is survived by five siblings: Margie Bougue, Connie Ashbrennar, Bonnie Vick, Bill Reynolds, and Lee Reynolds; the mother of his children, Kathy Porter; four children: Jeannie Murchison, Teresa Lackey, Shanda Harlin, and Brandon Reynolds; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Iva Reynolds, and five siblings: James and Wayne Reynolds, Mae Harendt, Lorita Jones, and Mary Richards.

The memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 2 PM, at Nowlin Anders Funeral Home. Clifton will be remembered for his unwavering patriotism, strength of character, and the lasting legacy of service he leaves behind.

Brandi “Bb” Leal, 20, of De Leon, passed away January 12, 2026. She was born February 10, 2005, in Ft. Worth, Texas and was the youngest child of Eloy Leal and Irene Chastain.

Brandi lived all her life in De Leon. She was creatively gifted and enjoyed journaling, drawing, and writing. She loved listening to music, swimming, and going to the lake with her family and friends. Brandi loved spending time with her family and friends and especially enjoyed being with her nephews and niece. She had dreams of working in the healthcare industry and helping people. Brandi had a nurturing heart and always tried to make someone else’s day better. She had given her life to the Lord in Catholic communion at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She was deeply loved by her family and many friends and will be missed beyond measure.

She is survived by her mother, Irene Chastain; brother, Joe Leal; sisters, Allisa Leal and Mari Leal; nephews, Ezekiel Leal, Grayson Leal, and Giovanni Leal; niece, Elyanna Ybarra; and her dog, Plex. Brandi has been reunited with her dad, Eloy Leal; sister, Allie Leal; and grandparents, Alfredo and Maria Leal.
