Rick Roundy

Rick D. Roundy, 67, passed away unexpectedly on November 12, 2025, in the place he loved most—“God’s Country”—on his hunting land. Born on October 9, 1958, to Charlotte and Ken Roundy, Rick lived a life filled with passion, purpose, and deep devotion to the people he loved.

Rick married his college sweetheart Diane (Tisch), sharing 41 years of laughter, adventures, and unwavering partnership. Together, they built a beautiful family—three children, Adam, Megan, and Jacob—and this week he proudly became a first-time grandpa, a role he was absolutely thrilled to embrace. This past year, the family was able to travel together to Florida and California which the family cherished.

A graduate of UW–Stevens Point with an MBA from UW–Oshkosh, Rick built a successful career in the paper industry before spending his final decade in real estate. He retired eight years ago and poured his time into everything he loved most—his family, his friends, the outdoors, and the many hobbies he mastered along the way. He was actively involved in St. Clare Parish.

Rick was known for his boundless curiosity, countless talents, and an enviable dedication to keeping everything in his world neat, organized, and meaningful. His hunting land, built and tended with his lifelong friend, John Sommercorn, became a haven of memories for both of their families.

Those who knew Rick were blessed by his kindness, loyalty, humor, and generosity. He had a way of making people feel seen and valued, and anyone loved by Rick carried with them a true gift. His legacy shines on through the traditions he built, the hobbies he perfected, and the granddaughter already stepping into the world with her grandpa’s spirit.

Rick is survived by his wife Diane; his children Adam (Sarah), Megan, and Jacob; his new granddaughter Ruby; his parents Charlotte and Ken; and his sisters Renee (Rick) Kamrath and Kendra (Tom) Otterlee. He is also fondly remembered by his in-laws—Donna (Huey) House, Ruth Tisch, Janet Robaidek, Linda (Dave) Rabas, Carolyn (Tom) Schuster, and Jerry (Vicki) Tisch—and by 25 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; mother and father in law, brothers-in-law Wayne Robaidek, Bob Tisch, and Roger Tisch; and his niece, Jodi Panzer.

In honor of Rick’s life, the family asks for prayers not only for their own healing, but for the individual responsible. His life was unwillingly and tragically taken, and we pray for all who struggle with mental health. The family hopes that increased understanding, support, and access to care will bring healing to others and help prevent future heartbreak.

Family and friends may visit at St. Clare Parish- St. Paul Site, 437 Main Street, Wrightstown, on Tuesday, November 18, from 3-7pm, with a parish prayer service to conclude the evening. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, at the church, from 9:00am until 10:30am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am with Fr. Bob Kabat officiating. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Rick’s name may be directed to St. Clare Parish.
