No plow, no problem! (Well, maybe a little bit of a problem) 😱

EE would like to extend a big thank you to Bayland Buildings, Inc. for sending out Wisconsin Earthworks and their crew to help us out after our plow system broke down Saturday. Words can’t describe how much we appreciate you! ❄️πŸͺ

And another shout out goes to John Schaefer for spending countless hours with the snowblower and on the tractor to make paths out to the paddocks! 🚜

It truly does take a village!

Like many of you, we are still trying to navigate this weather!

Without an active plow, we will not be able to hold programming tomorrow, Tuesday, March 17th.

03/15/2026

UPDATES:

First up! Due to the weather (and clean up), there will be NO programming Monday, March 16th

Secondly! Speaking of clean up! The EE plow has decided to retire (talk about terrible timing). If anyone knows anyone with emergency plow services, please let us know!

We’re in this together! Stay safe, everyone! πŸ’ͺπŸΌβ„οΈ

Dear EE Community:

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of one of our four-legged team members, Cookie.

Anyone that knew her knew just how special she was. Cookie’s endless dedication to her work is an inspiration to us all.

Cookie, you will forever have a place in our hearts. May your new pastures be greener and greater.

We’d also like to extend a thank you to Great Lakes Veterinary Clinic for taking such good care of our girl and keeping her comfortable and pain free. We are lucky to have such a caring team by our side.

Thanks to everyone who joined us for our first ever Parent to Parent Chat Night!

We absolutely loved getting to know each and every one of you and listen to bits and peices of your journey. The group had a lot of good talking points about so many different topics, including what brings them and their family joy, navigating the triumphs and challenges of living with a special needs child, balancing home life and relationships, where they find community support, and even how to prepare for school, IEP, transitions, etc. πŸ“£πŸ’ͺ🏼🚌

Couldn’t make it this time? No worries! Be sure to keep your eyes on our page for the next one! πŸ‘€

Yet another one of our amazing volunteers stealing the spotlight. Thanks for everything you do, Jerry!

❀ Jerry Glaeser is our volunteer of the week! ❀

Jerry volunteers at Exceptional Equestrians on a weekly basis and has given over 650 hours of service since his start in 2021 as a side walker. In addition, he assists in countless other ways to keep the facility up to date and the horses cared for. He takes time to drag the arena and fill water buckets for the horses each week and also helps out with facility maintenance and improvements. He treats everyone with kindness and compassion, and his commitment has positively impacted not only the organization's clients but staff and other volunteers as well.

Jerry shares this about volunteering at Exceptional Equestrians: "The staff are all so kind, caring, and compassionate, and they make each therapy session fun for the clients and the volunteers." He explains, "I started volunteering as a side walker for my daughter's adaptive riding session and found it so enjoyable that I decided to volunteer for additional hippotherapy sessions on a set schedule each week. I have enjoyed establishing a close relationship with the staff and clients. It is very gratifying to witness how the therapy sessions help the clients make improvements; some are small, and some are large, but each is considered a milestone for every client and their family."

In addition to volunteering at Exceptional Equestrians, Jerry and his wife, Becky, coordinate events called Dancing for Joy, which provide social gatherings for adults with intellectual or cognitive disabilities. He also coached Special Olympics in Green Bay for about 15 years. Thank you, Jerry, for the many ways you help others!
