Healthcare leaders from Healthy Connections recently joined national partners in Washington, D.C. to strengthen efforts addressing substance use disorder in rural communities. While collaboration and learning are important, the real impact happens back home—where patients and families rely on access to compassionate, coordinated care.

Across Western and Central Arkansas, Healthy Connections provides integrated medical care, behavioral health services, pharmacy support, and addiction treatment designed to meet patients where they are. By bringing these services together under one system of care, we help individuals and families find the support they need close to home.

Some people wait for luck. Others build the career they actually want.

If your current job is taking more than it gives, it may be time to make a smarter move. At Healthy Connections, most full-time team members work a 4-day, 40-hour schedule—creating a consistent three-day weekend. This isn’t a perk we talk about. It’s how we operate. We believe meaningful work should strengthen your life, not compete with it.

For more than 25 years, Healthy Connections has served communities across Arkansas with a commitment to Community, Compassion, and Excellence. We offer competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, medical, dental, and life insurance, a 401(k) with company match, generous paid time off, and a culture built on accountability and balance. If you’re ready to stop hoping for better and start building it, this is where it begins.

Men are often taught to “suck it up” and push through pain.

That mindset can be dangerous when it comes to health.

This morning on THV11’s The Vine at 9, Dr. Absalom Tilley discussed Playbook Men’s Health and why too many men wait until something is wrong before seeing a doctor.

He shared a sobering reminder:

“The most common symptom and sign that men have that let us know that they have heart disease is sudden death.”

Playbook Men’s Health was created to help men stop “playing through it” and start having a plan. It’s comprehensive, relationship-based care designed to improve both lifespan and quality of life.

Men, eyes on me.

If last year didn’t go how you planned, that’s not failure. That’s data.

Blood pressure. A1C. Cholesterol. Testosterone.

The scoreboard isn’t judgment — it’s guidance.

At Playbook Men’s Health by Healthy Connections, we help you review the numbers, make the adjustment, and build momentum before small issues become bigger problems.

Watch the message. Then take action.

This , February 25, we’re recognizing Inconvenience Yourself Day.

Growth rarely comes from comfort. Small, intentional actions today — even when they feel inconvenient — build stronger mental and physical health tomorrow.

Taking a short walk instead of scrolling. Preparing a balanced meal instead of grabbing fast food. Scheduling the behavioral health appointment you’ve been putting off. These small decisions build resilience, improve emotional regulation, and support long-term wellness.

At Evolve Behavioral Health Services by Healthy Connections, our licensed providers offer professional therapy and behavioral health care grounded in clinical expertise, compassion, and respect. Preventive mental health is part of whole-person care — and it starts with one intentional step.

You don’t have to live with foot pain.

Spring is almost here. Summer is right around the corner. If you’ve been “dealing with” bunions, fractures, diabetic foot issues, or lingering discomfort, it may be time to stop adjusting your life around pain and actually fix it.

In this week’s episode of the Connected Podcast by Healthy Connections, Marisol sits down with Dr. Mazzullah Khan, DPM, now seeing patients in Hot Springs. They discuss what podiatry really covers, how many in-office procedures can provide quick relief, and why this specialty is such a major need in Arkansas.

We’re halfway through the 2026 Polk County Dental Sealant Project, and the impact is already being felt across our schools.

In partnership with the UAFS Dental Hygiene Program, our team is providing sealants and fluoride treatments to 2nd–6th grade students throughout Polk County during National Children’s Dental Health Month. Preventive care like this helps stop cavities before they start—protecting chewing surfaces where decay most often develops and reducing the need for more extensive dental work later.

If your child did not participate at school, Healthy Connections Dental in Mena and Hot Springs is here to help. We accept Medicaid, ARKids 1st, and are in network with most dental insurance plans. Clinics are open Monday–Thursday, 7:45 a.m.–6:00 p.m.

Thumb pain may seem minor — until it affects your ability to grip, work, cook, or complete everyday tasks. February 18 is Thumb Appreciation Day, and on this we’re highlighting why even small joints deserve serious attention. Thumb pain, stiffness, or weakness is one of the most common joint concerns seen in primary care, and early evaluation can prevent long-term limitations.

Healthy Connections provides comprehensive primary care across Western and Central Arkansas. Our providers evaluate joint pain, manage arthritis and overuse injuries, and coordinate imaging or specialty referrals when needed. If thumb discomfort is interfering with your daily life, start with primary care. Learn more at https://healthy-connections.org/horizons-health-blog/ww-thumb/
