She was led by still waters, even in the intensity of birth. The rooms energy was light. The veil in her sweet abode was thin. This mama conquered all her fears with softness and grace.

Months later, I am still in awe of her, her faith and testimony. I am grateful for her trust in us with her care but ultimately her unwaveringly trust in the Lord’s plan for her and her family.

As we celebrate one year of the lovely Sonni being part of the Full Circle team, we’re also sharing some bittersweet news. She’ll be moving out of state, and we are so sad to see her go.

Sonni has cared for so many families with such heart, and we’re incredibly grateful for the time she’s been with us. This definitely feels more like a “see you later” than a goodbye.

And the bright side… now we have a place to crash when we finally take that dream trip to Hawaii. 🌺

We love you, Sonni. You’ll always be part of the Full Circle family.

Vernix caseosa is the creamy white coating many babies are born with. It forms during pregnancy and helps protect baby’s skin in the womb.

It also helps moisturize the skin, supports healthy bacteria, and has natural antimicrobial properties as baby transitions to life outside the uterus.

There is no need to rush to wipe it away. And we aren’t vigorously rubbing babies with blankets after birth. Many families choose to leave vernix on the skin and gently rub it in during the first hours after birth.

Sometimes it even ends up on our stethoscopes after listening to baby’s heart and lungs. A small, sweet reminder of the normal physiology of birth.

Birth doesn’t require a professional camera. Your iPhone and a little good lighting can capture the magic just fine. What matters most is preserving the moment so you can look back on it someday.

If it’s within your budget, we absolutely encourage hiring a professional birth photographer. Having your birth story beautifully documented is something many families treasure for years to come.

The first voices a baby hears should be those of their family.
The first touch a baby feels ideally should be their mother’s.

Birth is deeply personal. Your awareness shouldn’t be pulled toward the presence or energy of a birth team. As midwives, we remain steady and attentive in the background, almost like quiet shadows who step forward only when needed

The first voices a baby hears should be those of their family.

Birth is deeply personal. Your awareness shouldn’t be pulled toward the presence or energy of a birth team. As midwives, we remain steady and attentive in the background—like quiet shadows who step forward only when needed.

Much of our true midwifery happens long before labor begins:
in the prenatal room, in community gatherings, in motherhood circles, and in childbirth education. This is where confidence grows, where families remember their strength, and where a woman’s power is protected and nurtured before the day she brings her baby into the world.
