We are quickly closing in on spring, but we are still in need of warmer clothing to give to our clients while the weather is still on the chilly side.

Can you please help us with a donation of gently used girls and boys long sleeved shirts and pants in toddler sizes 2T-5T?

Our racks are very empty and we have new clients who are pregnant who already have children that are joining us every week who are in need.

New items are also always welcomed and can be sent directly to The Lennon Center or dropped off during our business hours of 9-3p on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.

Thank you for allowing us to help families who attend our parenting classes to receive material support!

Kids who are read only one book a day will hear about 290,000 more words by age five than those who don't regularly read books with a parent or caregiver.

"Kids who hear more vocabulary words are going to be better prepared to see those words in print when they enter school" and "they are likely to pick up reading skills more quickly and easily," says Jessica Logan, professor of educational studies at Ohio State University.

What can you do? Read anything and everything to your children, starting with your brand new baby and continue reading into their middle school years.

Reading to your child not only builds their reading skills, it also builds and strengthens your connection with your child.

Please join in welcoming Kayla as our new Nurse Manager!

Kayla received her BSN in 2021, recently moved to Michigan from Pennsylvania, and started with us at the end of last year.

She brings a fresh perspective into our ultrasound office and says, "I have always had a desire to serve children and decided early on into my adult years to sponsor children in Third World countries. I have wanted to be a part of the pro-life community for so long and I look forward to seeing how the Lord uses me in this next chapter."

Welcome to The Lennon Center Kayla!

The good work that you make possible-

Thank you to our donors for helping provide our clients with over 355 packages of diapers and wipes during the month of February! That's over $6,035 in diapers and wipes that were freely given! In one month! Thank you.

In February, our parenting class clients received a total 192 material resource assistance boxes full of clothing and baby essentials such as bottles, pacifiers, nursing supplies, blankets, bibs, burp clothes, washcloths and towels, bouncy seats, swings, strollers, and other essential care items to help them provide for their children. That's amazing love being passed onto our clients and their children!

At The Lennon Center, we help families with their children up to age five through our parenting class programs.

We are all about walking with moms to empower families to be able to support their children and be good parents. Empower. Support. Parent. It's what we love to do!

You can help us in meeting the greatest needs, which are currently diapers and wipes by purchasing size 6 diapers on our Walmart registry or picking up a box and dropping them off at the center during business our business hours of 9-3p on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. https://www.walmart.com/registry/BR/065e9dae-4dcc-423e-a36c-641b4143b261

March is literacy month. What does this mean? It is a month to emphasize the incredible importance of exposing children to the written word.

A recent study has shown that young children whose parents read them five books a day before entering kindergarten have heard more than 1.4 million words than children who were never read to! This is being referred to as the 'million word gap'.

If you don't have a book handy to read then talk out loud to them about whatever you are doing: grocery shopping-read labels, explain what you are looking at; preparing meals-read the recipe, explain what you are doing as you cook.

Give them books to look at themselves even if they can't hold a book yet. You can set one up next to your infant and turn the page everytime you walk by them. Give your child a book over giving them screen time.

Take them to the library. There are so many wonderful picture books available to change up your reading resources.

Empower. Support. Parent.

That is the core of what we do at The Lennon Center in helping women and families navigate their way through an untimely pregnancy.

We empower women to choose life by providing free ultrasounds, pregnancy testing, and parenting classes.

We believe that education is the backbone of empowerment and that material resources, counseling, and community create the support network that allows our clients to thrive and be successful parents.

Through your generosity, The Lennon Center is changing lives! Please consider a donation to your local pregnancy center to make a difference in someone's life. To our donors and volunteers, thank you for your ongoing support!

Breaking news! The next step in the process of receiving our NEW ultrasound machine is complete!

We recently received a matching grant provided by the Knight's of Columbus Supreme Council as well as state and local council funding to finish off the fundraising arm of this endeavor.

Earlier this year, the Supreme Council of the Knights of Columbus reached out to us randomly by email looking for pregnancy resource centers in need of a new ultrasound machine.

They were offering, through various levels of Knights organizations, to cover 100% of the cost of a new machine. This was a Godsend for us as our machine was nearing the end of its life and we were not sure how we would be able to replace it.

We are feeling truly blessed to be the recipients of such a valuable, life-affirming gift. Over 112 ultrasound machines have been donated to pregnancy resource centers through the state councils in Michigan!

God Bless the Knights of Columbus and all of those who support pregnancy resource centers! Pictured: TLC staff and KofC reps from local and state councils.

"Prayer is an aspiration of the heart, it is a simple glance directed to heaven, it is a cry of gratitude and love in the midst of trial as well as joy; finally it is something great, supernatural, which expands my soul and unites me to Jesus.” - St. Therese of Lisieux

We need your prayers for the pregnant women that walk through our doors feeling lost and hopeless, the women who are trying to keep their families together despite overwhelming odds while facing a new pregnancy, and the countless other hardships that our clients experience as part of their daily lives.

Please consider joining our intercessory prayer team to collectively gather our prayers and unite as we face the challenges of the continual opposition to the sanctity of life.

We have 49 people signed up and we would love for you to join us! Occasionally send prayer text alerts or emails asking for prayers when a client comes to us who is really struggling. Prayer works!

Did you know that your mouth makes around 25,000 gallons of saliva in a lifetime? You could fill an Olympic sized swimming pool with all that saliva!

But seriously, there is more to saliva than just drool. When too much sugar interacts with the bacteria in your mouth, it creates acid.

Saliva can wash away food sugars that are trying to break down your teeth. Not only that, saliva contains tons of minerals that help make the tooth surface strong to fight off cavities.

Some people experience excessively dry mouth, also known as xerostomia. This condition can be caused by medications, smoking and more.

Without saliva around to do its job, cavities can run rampant. Think twice the next time you spit that precious saliva out of your mouth.
