We had a wonderful time supporting such a special great event! 💙
Decatur Morgan OB-GYN was proud to be a sponsor of the Decatur Women's Chamber of Commerce High Tea held at the Cook Museum of Natural Science on Friday, April 17.

It was a beautiful afternoon filled with inspiration, and community spirit. We were especially grateful to have team members from our Decatur Morgan OB-GYN clinic in attendance, along with members of the Decatur Morgan Hospital Labor & Delivery team and DMH Coordinator of Physician Recruitment.

We love being part of events that celebrate and uplift women in our community! 💐

Some stories are hard to put into words, but this one means too much not to share.

Our Wings of Hope Sponsor this year is Dr Allison Warren with Decatur Morgan OB-GYN, and this one is incredibly close to our hearts. Dr Warren has delivered all of our babies and has been part of so many of our most meaningful moments, both joyful and heartbreaking.

When we lost Ryker during COVID, she was out of town, but she did everything she could to get back to us. She was stranded in the Atlanta airport after flying in from South Florida, with no rental cars and no easy way home. In order to get her to the hospital, her husband drove through the night to pick her up and bring her to Huntsville Hospital.

And she made it.

She was the one who woke me up that morning, and the moment I saw her, I started to cry. A cry I will never forget, filled with so much pain but also a deep sense of peace because she was there beside us.

That is who she is. Not just an incredible doctor, but a steady, compassionate presence who shows up no matter what, and over the years she has become a dear friend and one of our strongest supporters of Ryker’s Rainbow.

It feels so fitting that she is our Wings of Hope Sponsor this year. We can't share what that means just yet because it is tied to a special part of the evening, but we promise it is something meaningful and very, very fitting!

We are getting very LOW on tickets! Grab yours if you haven't yet. I will add a link in the comments!

Big changes are coming—your family is growing! 💕 Preparing your child for a new baby can help make the transition smoother for everyone.

Here are a few ways to get siblings ready:
- Talk about the baby early and often
- Read books about becoming a big brother or sister
- Let them help pick out baby items or decorate the nursery
- Set aside special one-on-one time with them
- Involve them in age-appropriate ways when baby arrives

Remember, it’s normal for children to have big feelings during this time. With patience, reassurance, and lots of love, you can help them feel excited and included in their new role.

At Decatur Morgan OB-GYN, we’re here to support your whole family—every step of the way. 💗

💤 Did you know? Better daytime naps can mean better nighttime sleep for your baby!
Believe it or not, how your baby sleeps during the day plays a big role in how well they sleep at night. Getting the right number of naps — at the right times — helps prevent overtiredness and can lead to longer, more restful nighttime sleep.

👶 Here’s a quick guide:
• Newborns: several short naps throughout the day
• 3–6 months: about 3–4 naps
• 6–12 months: typically 2 naps (morning & afternoon)

Every baby is different, but consistent naps and watching for sleepy cues can make a big difference!

Healthy Eating and Women
The food and drink choices you make every day affect your health now and later in life. Choosing healthy foods and drinks more often can help prevent or manage many health problems that affect women. And studies show that when a woman eats healthy, everyone in her household is more likely to eat healthy.

Perimenopause — the transition leading up to menopause — typically begins in a woman’s mid- to late-40s. On average, this phase lasts about four years before periods stop completely.

During this time, hormonal changes can cause symptoms like irregular cycles, hot flashes, and mood changes. Understanding what’s happening with your body can help you feel more confident and prepared for the journey ahead.
