As we close out Pastoral Care and Spiritual Care Week, we're thrilled to celebrate Chaplain John, another member of our Decatur Hospice team!

John has been a steady and compassionate presence on our Aveanna team for the past 8 years.

Known for offering a listening ear and words of comfort when they’re needed most, he walks alongside patients and families with grace, empathy, and unwavering support. His role reminds us that simply being present can be one of the greatest gifts we offer to those we serve.

We've loved getting to celebrate our incredible chaplains and spiritual counselors this week for Pastoral Care and Spiritual Care Week! As a member of our Decatur Hospice team, Chaplain Jeff has made an impact on so many.

Jeff has been part of our Aveanna team for just over 2 years. He's always singing and lifting our patients' spirits with his words of encouragement and genuine smile. His work reminds us that healing goes beyond the physical!

Pastoral Care and Spiritual Care Week falls on the final full week of October each year. It gives us the opportunity to thank our Chaplains and Spiritual Counselors for the sacred care they provide during the unique “journey of the spirit” our patients and families face at the end of life.

While many of our team members focus on caring for our patients’ physical needs, you care for the spirit. You bring peace and hope during difficult times. When your patients are at their most vulnerable and uncertain, you strengthen and encourage them. You walk hand in hand with patients on their last journey, comforting and supporting them.

We cannot thank you enough for your faith, dedication, and guidance in times of great need. Thank you for all you do and for the lasting impact of your care and compassion.
