This summer, I'm excited to begin offering drama therapy trainings through Emory University's Department of Continuing Education!
CREATIVE DRAMA FOR MENTAL HEALTH PROFESSIONALS - STORYTELLING: AUG 10, 2021 TO SEP 07, 2021
This 15-hour, 5-week online course seeks to develop the creative imagination, self-expression, self-knowledge, and social relatedness of mental health professionals through active participation in a variety of improvised dramatic activities—storytelling and enactment. Participants can also learn to apply these skills to clinical practice, as dramatic storytelling techniques may be used with clients of all ages to access spontaneity, solve problems, teach through action, and create community. Each week of class will include active practice as well as lecture and group discussion. No experience in drama or storytelling is required. This course meets requirements for those pursuing the RDT (Registered Drama Therapist) credential through the NADTA and may also be eligible for CEU’s for credentialed therapists/practitioners (please inquire)). Class meets synchronously on Tuesdays from 6-8pm with one hour of asynchronous lecture per week. Cost: $375
