And just like that, scholarship season begins.

We kicked off our Class of 2026 awards at Arthur Lovington Atwood Hammond Arthur CUSD #305 High School’s Honors Night, with HICF Moultrie County Director Grant Wade presenting three scholarships.

Congratulations to Kimberly Krutsinger, recipient of a Cancer Care Specialists of IL $1,000 and Wiesemann Family $5,000 scholarships, and to Halle Wardrip, recipient of the $500 Michael E. Shampine Memorial Scholarship.

More to come as we celebrate students across our three-county region.

Because of the generosity of our donors, the Cancer Care Specialists of Illinois Foundation was able to provide meaningful, real-world support to patients facing cancer-related hardships last year.

As a direct result of your donations:

7 patients were awarded grants to assist with car, rent, and utility payments
4 patients received help with gas and transportation
7 patients received assistance with food and groceries
23 patients received funds to help make Christmas possible

These moments of support eased financial stress and allowed patients and families to focus on what matters most — care, healing, and hope.
