🌟 Exciting News! 🌟 Yesterday marked the groundbreaking of the DeKalb IDD Community Access Center, a transformative space dedicated to promoting inclusivity and support for adults with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities (IDD) and Autism.

Spanning 27,000 square feet, this state-of-the-art facility will be the largest Adult IDD treatment center in the metro Atlanta area. Claratel's mission is to create a serene environment where individuals can thrive, learn, and work. 💪✨

Special guests attending included Former DeKalb County CEO, Liane Levetan, and Marjorie Glider, an advocate for children with special needs. This center builds on a 47-year legacy, originally established in 1978 as the Barry Glider Memorial Center at the former Brookhaven Park location, thanks to the advocacy of Mrs. Liane Levetan and county commissioners at the time.

Additional special guest that participated in the ground breaking included Commissioner Kevin Tanner, Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD), Commissioner Chikiara Johnson, DeKalb County District 4, and Mayor John Park, Brookhaven

Together, we’re building a brighter future!💖

🌿 April Awareness. April Action. April Impact. 🌿

April is a powerful reminder that healing, support, and community matter. At Claratel, we recognize this month as an opportunity to uplift conversations around mental health, substance use disorder, and intellectual developmental disabilities (IDD)—and, more importantly, to connect individuals and families to the care they deserve.

Every day, our staff works across the community to provide:
💚 Mental Health Services – counseling, crisis support, and ongoing care that meets people where they are
💙 Substance Use Disorder Treatment – recovery-focused programs that restore hope and stability
💛 IDD Services – empowering individuals through skill-building, community access, and supportive care

We believe that everyone deserves access to compassionate, high-quality behavioral health services—regardless of their circumstances.

This April, let’s:
✨ Break the stigma
✨ Encourage open conversations
✨ Support those on their journey to wellness

🌟 What an inspiring day at the Capitol! Claratel is proud to support Substance Use Prevention Day, and our amazing staff member, Aalayah Foster, is here supporting LPC Day at the Capitol. ✨

Aalayah joined the Licensed Professional Counselors Association (LPCA) in discussing with policymakers and legislators the role counseling professionals play in Georgia’s mental health systems. Aalayah (right) took a picture with the LPCA President-Elect, Dr. Tonja Simmons Lee (left), with the Proclamation for LPC Appreciation Day, signed by Governor Brian P. Kemp.

Together with LPCA, we’re highlighting the vital role of Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs) in our communities. 💪Let’s continue to uplift and empower our counselors!
