Open MRI of Decatur is named after our scanner that is completely open on all four sides. Its unique design accommodates all types of patients, even physically large and claustrophobic patients, and is ideal for elderly and sedation-sensitive patients. A microphone and speaker system allows communication with the technologist during your exam.

Exciting progress to share! Center updates:

- We will be scanning MRI patients again next week! There are still some appointment times available at the time of this post for next week!

- Our New ultrasound room is almost complete. We are waiting on delivery of our ultrasound table. Look for us to be accepting patients as soon as the first week of February. We will update with an exact start date soon.

- Our X-ray room construction is also under way. We will have a more detailed timeline for the exact launch date of this service soon.

We are excited to announce that we begin the process of installing our new MRI machine starting Monday, 1/19/26. Because of this, we will not be scanning the week of 1/19. However, we will still be staffed as usual and taking orders via phone and fax for the week of 1/26 when we will be scaning again. Stay tuned for more details. Thank you all for the support!

Holiday week Hours: We are open 7am-5pm Mon-Wed, closed New Years Day, then 7am-5pm on Friday.

Announcement: Open MRI of Decatur is now doing business as Decatur Diagnostic Imaging. We are expanding our services to include Ultrasound and X-Ray that we intend to start in Early 2026 in addition to our existing Open MRI capabilities. We will be upgrading our MRI as well in 2026 but do not have a set time frame for that install just yet. Our same dedicated team remains committed to providing exceptional care. Getting close to completion of exterior painting!

Our first coat of paint was applied over the weekend!

Patients: please note our signage will be down this week as they finish up painting. They will be applying additional coats and painting our exterior doors and trim on the calendar week. Thank you for your support! We are looking forward to sharing the finished product!

The MRI Accreditation Program evaluates qualifications of personnel, equipment performance, effectiveness of quality control measures and quality of clinical images.
