Best Friends Blood Bank Volunteer Blood Bank for Dogs and Cats The Best Friends Blood Bank is now open.

This is a great way you and your pet can help save the lives of other animals and make money doing so! Blood and blood product transfusions are used commonly in veterinary medicine to treat a variety of conditions including parasites, trauma, rat poisoning ingestion, immune-disorders, and some cancers. Best Friends Blood Bank is looking for volunteer dog and cat blood donors who meet the following requirements:

Canine Donors:
- weigh at least 50 #
- are between 1 and 8 years of age
- have a friendly and calm temperament
- are current on vaccines, heartworm prevention, and flea/tick control
- has never been the recipient of blood or blood products (plasma)
Feline Donors:
-weight at least 10 #
- are between 1 and 8 years of age
- are indoor only with no contact with outdoor cats
- have a friendly and calm temperament
-are current on vaccines
- has never been the recipient of blood or blood products (plasma)
