An important part of grooming is picking the horse’s hoof.  Our riders are great hoof pickers.

It’s with heavy hearts we’ve had to say goodbye to our dear sweet Rhapsody. She lived a long and productive 34 years as an outstanding and dedicated therapy horse. She was lovingly referred to as the Mary Poppins of our Stride Ahead herd.

Rhapsody was serious about her job as a therapy horse. We believe therapy work was pleasurable and meaningful for her with the help of our valued volunteers and riders. Not only did she work with children, but she also helped veterans in our stress relief and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) sessions and our Shephard Center clients. It will be a serious loss for all who worked with her.

Rhapsody was much loved by our Stride Ahead family and she will be sorely missed. We can take comfort knowing she led a life well lived, full of love, service and giving to all who knew her.

Thank you Rhapsody!

Stride Ahead horse, Teddy, has an injury and has to be as calm as possible to recover. To help him out, Stride Ahead Founder, Anne Preston, brought out her flute to entertain Teddy while he recovers. As you can see he was all in!
