Hospice of the Valley received a Proclamation from the City of Decatur and Kent Lawrence, Mayor of The City of Decatur, proclaiming November 2025 as National Hospice and Palliative Care Month.
The proclamation encourages citizens to deepen their understanding and awareness of hospice and palliative care, engage in meaningful conversations with their families about end-of-life wishes, and recognizes the dedicated healthcare professionals who walk alongside patients and families during life’s most vulnerable moments.

Our Mission

Hospice of the Valley is a community-based not-for-profit agency that started in 1985 that provides care and support to residents of Morgan, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Cullman, Franklin and Marshall Counties in Alabama, who are facing end-of-life care decisions. We provide Hospice Care for those with life-limiting diseases, and Grief Support Groups for anyone who has suffered a loss through death. Hospice of the Valley prides itself in knowing that we take every measure to provide the best possible care through our professional clinical staff and well-trained volunteers. Exceeding expectations is our standard of care.
