Setting my alarm so I can connect with the earth at the exact moment today! 👣 🌍

Happy Winter SOLEstice!

Some think of today as the shortest day of the year for the Northern Hemisphere, the beginning of Winter, a sign of longer, brighter days to come (or maybe it's just another Sunday where you are doing your Barefoot magic or homelife!)

We like to think of the Solstices as SOLEstices: a chance to get centered, pay attention to our feet, and reset something with a fierce intention. (Which is exactly what the FasciAshi work we teach at The Center for Barefoot Massage is all about!)

The precise astronomical Winter Solstice happens at 9:08am Central time today: this is the exact time when the path of the Sun is at its lowest in the sky for our hemisphere of the planet all year. Maybe consider using this moment, or any moment today that you can, to walk barefoot outside to connect to the Earth, or stand barefoot on a client and connect with them.

Ready to set your 2026 goals? Create and manifest your vision for the next season down through your SOLEs today, and get a leg up in the New Year 🌠

‼️SMALL CLASSES!‼️

Because close attention to detail is critical for learning . 👀 Not just for the students, but also for the instructor to ensure that correct habits are formed from the first step up onto the table.🪜

Safety while learning barefoot massage is paramount. Every skill is saturated with safety for student body mechanics, fall prevention, and preserving/improving client’s tissue and structural health.

This class not only set the bar extremely high for themselves, they challenged me to be a better instructor. I learned so much while guiding them into this new to them world of barefoot massage. 📚👩🏻‍🎓👩🏼‍🎓

Come join us for our Fall Fijian/Mat barefoot massage class. We won’t teach this class again until Spring 2026 so grab a spot if you want it!

With no overhead infrastructure needed, this barefoot massage method is highly portable with minimal equipment needs. We literally took it to the beach this summer and taught as well as gave and received barefoot massage on the sand! 🏖️

The correct answer is D, between greater trochanter and lateral sacrum. It’s a landmark that I use in my classroom to teach students how to work the posterior glutes and hips.
