Small gestures can mean so much.

Thanks to our Environmental Services colleagues, along with donations from our case managers and local businesses, patients spending Christmas in the hospital received a small ornament, carnation and Christmas card as a small gift to help brighten spirits while in the hospital. A simple reminder that they are not alone this season.

Christmas came a little early at St. Mary's!

We are excited to share that a large portion of the equipment for our new surgical suites and sterile processing department is on campus. And we plan to start the installation phase of construction in January.

Effective Monday, Dec. 22, we are implementing the following visitor guidelines during respiratory illness season across our HSHS Illinois and Wisconsin hospitals as a precautionary measure for the safety of our colleagues, patients and visitors:

Only two people are allowed to visit a patient at any one time.

Also, please do not visit patients if you:
• Have a cold or any flu-like symptoms including, fever or chills, sore throat, body or muscle aches, headache, cough or runny nose
• Are under 18 years of age

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
