Benton House Senior Living Residents Walk the Equivalent of the Globe for Local Charities
Decatur, GA — Residents of Benton House Senior Living communities across the country laced up their sneakers for a cause, collectively walking 31,923 miles — the equivalent of circling the globe 1.28 times — to raise funds for local charities.
Throughout 2025, 16 Benton House communities participated in the annual Benton House Walking Club Challenge, turning daily strolls into meaningful impact. Communities averaged more than 2,100 miles, roughly the distance from New York City to Las Vegas, proving that small, consistent steps truly add up to something remarkable.
“Staying mobile and active as we age is incredibly important,” said Maddie Lipham, Community Relations Director. “Our walking club keeps residents moving, laughing, and connecting. Knowing every mile helps others makes each step even more rewarding — and the annual check-presentation celebration is always a highlight!”
This year’s donation from Benton House of Decatur Senior Living was presented to the American Parkinson Disease Association (Georgia Chapter), continuing the tradition of blending wellness, purpose, and community spirit.
