🍁 Happy Thanksgiving to the ESTEEM Family 🍁

As we enter this season of gratitude, we want to take a moment to acknowledge each of you. The holidays often bring joy, connection, and togetherness—a time to pause and appreciate the blessings and growth we've experienced throughout the year.

But we also recognize that the holiday season can bring mixed emotions. For many, this time can feel heavy due to loss, loneliness, illness, unresolved hurts, trauma triggers, and overwhelm. If this resonates with you, please know this truth:

You Are Not Alone.

At ESTEEM Counseling and Consulting Services, our mission is to empower and support you through every season—including the difficult ones.

🧠 Create Your Holiday Mental Wellness Plan

A mental wellness plan can provide grounding, clarity, and comfort throughout the holiday season. Consider including:

✔ Visit Plan

Be intentional about what gatherings you attend and how long you plan to stay.

✔ Exit Plan

Prepare a graceful way to step away if you become overwhelmed.

✔ Identify Triggers & Vulnerabilities

Know what situations, people, or memories may affect your emotional well-being.

✔ Coping Tools

Write down grounding exercises, breathing techniques, music, scents, journaling prompts, or other strategies.

✔ Affirmations

Simple reminders such as “I deserve peace,” “I can take breaks,” or “I am in control of my boundaries.”

✔ Support Network

List friends, family, or professionals you can call when you need encouragement or support.

---

💛 A Gentle Reminder

If the holiday season feels isolating or overwhelming, you are not doing anything wrong. You are human—and reaching out for support is a sign of strength.

🎗️ Cancer Awareness Month

💛 For the Patient

1. Honor Your Emotions
It’s okay to feel fear, frustration, or sadness — acknowledging those feelings is part of your healing journey.

2. Prioritize Rest and Mindfulness
Your body and mind are both in recovery. Gentle breathing, journaling, or quiet reflection can help reduce stress and anxiety.

3. Ask for and Accept Help
Lean on your support system. Let loved ones assist with meals, appointments, or simply being there — it’s a sign of strength, not weakness.

💚 For Family/Friend Allies

1. Be Present, Not Perfect
Sometimes just sitting quietly with your loved one means more than words. Listen and follow their lead on what they need.

2. Encourage Hope, Not Pressure
Offer optimism without demanding positivity — let them have space for hard days too.

3. Take Care of Yourself
Supporting someone through illness is emotionally taxing. Practice your own self-care to stay grounded and resilient.

💜 Domestic Violence Awareness Month

💕 For the Survivor

1. Believe Your Experience
Your feelings and story are valid. You deserve safety, healing, and peace — always.

2. Rebuild at Your Own Pace
Healing from trauma takes time. Celebrate small victories and allow yourself patience and grace.

3. Seek Safe, Professional Support
Connect with trauma-informed therapists or advocacy organizations that specialize in domestic violence recovery.

💙 For Family/Friend Allies

1. Listen Without Judgment
Avoid pushing or questioning why they stayed — focus on making them feel heard and supported.

2. Know the Resources
Have contact information ready for hotlines, shelters, or counseling centers in case they decide to seek help.

3. Respect Their Choices
Leaving an abusive situation can be complex. Offer unconditional support while prioritizing their safety and autonomy.

I’m a strong advocate for mental health and wellness—especially for individuals living with chronic conditions, including digestive illnesses. Mental health must be part of the conversation when it comes to overall care.

That’s why I’m so excited to be a guest at the Conference, joining and to explore and discuss these critical topics.

Be sure to check them out and sign up—this is a conversation you don’t want to miss!
