Earlier in the month, Decatur Public Transit came and provided us a tour through Decatur. Everyone had a wonderful time! Our driver Steven, was such a huge help and very informative. We couldn't have asked for a better driver. Steven was very caring and helped everyone on and off the bus and we couldn't be more grateful for him! Thank you so much for everything!

A Step Forward's 12 Days of Christmas Dress Up starts tomorrow! We kick off Day 1 tomorrow with Christmas Character Day: Wear your favorite Christmas Character Shirt or Outfit (Grinch, Elf, Santa, Cindy Lou Who, Character from a movie etc.) Or just dress in something festive if you prefer! We had lots of things to be thankful for, these are just some of the Turkey's that were created with things they were thankful for this year! We had a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration on November 20th here at A Step Forward. We enjoyed Chicken and Noodles, Mashed Potatoes, Corn, Chips & Queso, & Rolls for lunch and for dessert they had a choice of Pumpkin Dump Cake, Apple Crisp or Cranberry Fluff. We spent the day together watching movies & listening to music. Some of the things that we were told they were thankful for this year were: family, friends, food, jobs at ASF, Staff at ASF, being able to come to Day Program everyday at ASF, going to Dollar Tree & fun outings at day program, their homes, staff at their homes and many more things to be thankful for! From all of us at A Step Forward, we hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving!!! 🦃

A small group went Geocaching with Shannon earlier this month too. For those of you who do not know what that is: Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game that uses GPS-enabled devices to navigate to a specific set of coordinates. Individuals then use clues to find a hidden container, called a geocache, and sign a logbook inside. When found, participants can trade trinkets with other items in the cache and then must return it to its original location! They seem to really enjoy this and have a lot of fun!
