City to accept pre-applications for roof replacement program 🏠

Starting November 17, 2025 at 8:00 a.m., we will accept pre-applications for a roof replacement program, offered by the Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA). Pre-applications will be accepted online or in person through 5:00 p.m. on November 21, 2025 and they will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Eligible Decatur homeowners must be at or below 80 percent area median income for their household size, current on their mortgage, and own a single-family home in need of roof replacement, among other requirements. Learn more and apply through the link in the comments.

Thank you to the Illinois Housing Development Authority for assisting Decatur homeowners! We received $400,000 from IHDA as part of $15 million awarded across the state.
