The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities and the Georgia Department of Education have launched a statewide initiative to make opioid reversal kits available in every school.

In November, state leaders proposed using their share of a $50 billion federal rural health program for initiatives. While the Trump administration promises “radical transparency” and plans to publish project summaries for awardees, many states are refusing to share any details.

Proposals from states that have shared their applications to a new $50 billion rural health program include using drones to deliver medication, installing refrigerators to expand access to healthy produce, and bringing telehealth to libraries, day cares, and senior centers.
