✨ A Reminder for All Parents: Early Eye Exams Matter! ✨

Yesterday, we saw three young patients—ages 8, 5, and just 4 years old—for their very first comprehensive eye exams. All three of them ended up having significant prescriptions, yet had given minimal complaints at home or school.

This is such an important reminder:
👉 Kids often don’t know when their vision isn’t normal.
👉 They assume what they see is how everyone sees.
👉 And at ages 4–5, when they’re just starting school, clear vision is crucial for learning and development.

Children learn through their eyes — reading, recognizing letters, copying from the board, and exploring the world around them. Undetected vision issues can make learning harder and may go unnoticed for years.

📌 Please don’t wait for complaints.
A yearly eye exam can make an enormous difference in a child’s confidence, comfort, and academic success.

“Enter 7th grade, new school, new teachers and new glasses for the very first time. I was so happy to be able to see clearly, but looking back, those first frames were hideous on my fair skinned complexion, but of course my mother picked them out! I have had many pairs since then and I even wore contacts for 5 years until my astigmatism said no more. In my 40's I switched from single vision to progressive lenses, because I like to see what I am reading! It's great to have such a variety of styles and colors of frames today and I have enjoyed wearing many of them. To sum it up, glasses have been part of my life for so long and I wear them proudly.”
