Head Start Advocacy Day at the State House!

Yesterday, our Early Head Start team headed to Beacon Hill wearing red — to show the love for our families, staff, legislative supporters, and communities, and in the spirit of Valentine's Day! 💕

The team met individually with State Representative Paul Donato, Rep. Marjorie Decker, Christine Barber - State Representative, and Rep. Mike Connolly to advocate for Head Start State Supplemental Grants. Thank you to these dedicated legislators for taking the time to hear about the challenges facing our programs, the ongoing need for financial support, and the critical services we provide every day.

A special thank you as well to Riverside Board program liaison Annette Shine for joining us. Our voices were heard! 💪

Our hearts are with the Gloucester community as they mourn the loss of seven lives from the fishing vessel Lily Jean. During this heartbreaking time, Riverside Trauma Center counselors have been working alongside families, the Fishing Partnership Support Services, and the City of Gloucester, MA, to support the community. In moments of profound loss, we are here to help our neighbors navigate grief and begin the path toward healing.

The Lily Jean went down on Friday morning about 25 miles offshore with seven people aboard.

Proud to see our own Lisa Roth (CPS, PMH-C) featured in The New York Times article exploring the need to add postpartum psychosis to “Psychiatry’s Bible,” the D.S.M. Lisa draws on her lived experience with postpartum psychosis to advocate for the D.S.M. to officially recognize this condition—a critical step that would drive greater awareness, expanded research, and dedicated funding for maternal mental health.
