The Alumni Program here at Lifeskills is proud to host meaningful recovery events that bring people together in connection and community.

Our alumni reunion was especially impactful, welcoming over 80 people, including 60 alumni plus their families and friends. The afternoon created space for sharing messages of hope, recognizing alumni leaders, and enjoying games and creative activities together. From bonding over food, smoothies, and coffee to celebrating live music and entertainment provided by our talented alumni band and DJ, it was a powerful reminder of the strength and joy found in community.

Thank you to everyone who made this event possible and to the community organizations who came out to support. We look forward to many more opportunities to celebrate recovery and continue growing together.

This month and every month, we honor resilience, creativity, and our ongoing commitment to equity in mental health care.

The artwork featured in our graphics comes from The Florida Highwaymen, a group of African American artists who overcame barriers in the 1950s-1980s by selling their Florida landscapes along highways, creating opportunity through determination and talent.

Their legacy is a powerful reminder that access to opportunity matters. Mental wellness is a right, not a privilege, and we encourage learning, reflection, and support for equitable mental health care for all.
