Kaitlyn’s Cottage is a country cottage getaway designed to provide day, evening, and overnight respite for people who have intellectual and physical disabilities. foot cottage is unique in that services are provided in a warm and cozy home environment and although located on the campus of ProMedica Defiance Regional Hospital, Kaitlyn’s Cottage is a not-for-profit non-medical respite facility. Resp

ite care is short-term or temporary care lasting a few hours, days, or longer to provide relief, or respite, to the regular caregiver. The caregiver is typically a parent or other family member. Respite can be for a scheduled event, such as a vacation, school break, or surgery, or an unscheduled event, such as a family emergency. Respite can also provide caregivers an opportunity to have time to rest, run errands, enjoy a date night or attend an important event that they otherwise would not be able to attend. Our mission is to provide respite services to individuals who have developmental (intellectual and physical) disabilities. We do have an intake process and will need some basic information prior to participation in any of our respite services. By providing us with some basic information we can ensure that we are ready and able to care and serve your loved one appropriately. For this reason we do not accept drop-ins for scheduled respite stays or participation in calendar of events activities. Kaitlyn’s Cottage celebrates your loved one’s special abilities and we understand everyone is unique. We review each family’s request for services on a case by case basis. For these reasons don’t hesitate to contact us to discuss your needs. We will do what we can to accommodate you. If you think you can utilize the services of Kaitlyn's Cottage, please call! Kaitlyn's Cottage will also provide fun and educational activities for the families served by the facility. Besides respite care, this facility is used to serve as a gathering place for families with loved ones with special needs to share information and gain knowledge about resources available to them by state agencies or other organizations in the surrounding area. ✨ Notes to Know:

- The clock starts at 8:00 AM sharp on Monday, May 4—no early birds! 🐦Timestamps on emails and voicemails will keep things fair for everyone.
- Campers must be registered participants of Kaitlyn’s Cottage to join the fun!
- Each camper can choose up to TWO camps—but be sure to list your top 3 choices since spots fill FAST!
- Regular hourly respite rates apply, plus a $20/day camp fee.
- Camps are an all-in experience—campers must attend the full session (no partial picks!).
