Twist It

Twist It 10 Tips to get your confidence sky high ahead of your first class.
1. Contact the teacher a day before your class and let them know that you are interested.

(Sylvia Koester 419-576-6052)
2. Some places require you to bring a mat, but we do not require you to do so. We offer mats at every class.
3. Arrive early and take the time to talk to the other students. Ask questions. Yoga is a great way to meet like-minded people; many classmates go on to become great friends.
4. Introduce yourself to the instructor.
5. Position yourself at the front of class by the instructor.
6. Follow the instructor, not the other students, as they may be doing it wrong.
7. If you feel tired or find postures too difficult, sit on your mat and observe the instructor. This is common practice in yoga classes so do not feel bad about it.
8. Be patient and kind to your body. Don't expect perfection and do not push yourself too hard. Rome was not built in a day.
9. After your class, make note of the main postures that were included and practice them at home or the next time you go to the gym.
10. More importantly: park your ego and enjoy the moment.

Hello friends, Rob here!

I'm all about honesty, so if you are seeing this post, it is because you had liked this page's former iterations of Rob's Music Studio and Performance SmArts Studios and Productions.

Apologies for my silence recently, I put everything I could into making the studio something that could last, but I launched too big too fast without a safety net and have learned a lot of hard lessons along the way.

My love of teaching and mentoring young artists has not changed, but for now, I'm thrilled that there are so many other talented music instructors and mentors in our area, and I hope that there will be even more in the future!

But my first love has always been the piano. I don't have any memories of early childhood that didn't involve a piano, and throughout my life, the piano has always been my constant; a familiar friend that happens to be wherever I live. I'm pretty sure that no other vocal students during my era spent as much time at Wright State playing every Steinway in the practice rooms, and I am pretty sure I am the only voice student in the history of Ohio U to request midnight recital hall time with the Bösendorfer Imperial (and we won't talk about what happened that evening.... IYKYK lol!) because, if you have access to one, you would have to be a fool not to play it as often as possible, with or without university permission. lol. But I also like pianos that aren't made by a fancy company that still exists. Literally every piano was made to last for generations, and that thought excites me.

Pianos have always been the solution to my problems, and again in honesty, the job market is not what I had hoped it would be, so I'm once again leaning into my love of the piano to rely on income.

This time, however, I've taken the past 4 months off to study, learn, practice, and live in the world of piano mechanics, rather than launching hard and fast with expectations of grandeur, as I am wont to do.

This career path just makes sense for me, and I would appreciate your continued support with this iteration of this page.

I'll be posting some before and afters soon, so be sure to like this post to help the algorithm!

I am currently running a new-client special that includes a pitch-raise if necessary, a deep cleaning, and a tuning for $100! I'll soon have my certification from the Piano Technicians Academy, and when that happens, the sale is off, so schedule your service today!
