Across our footprint, we are continuing our commitment to improving access to care, strengthening well-being and supporting healthier communities, as exhibited in our recently released 2025 Community Health Annual Report. This report is a snapshot of how our ministry continues to put good to work beyond our walls.

“Our report goes beyond data to reflect the commitment of our Community Health teams to advancing health and well-being through mission-driven action,” said Gina Hemenway, interim vice president of Community Health. “Each success represents meaningful progress in addressing the factors that shape health — such as food and nutrition security, access to care, affordable housing and social connection — so we can build healthier, more resilient communities.”

"When I found Dr. Gregory Johnston, I knew he was the one who was going to change my life for the better," shared Brittnee, a 34-year-old mom of five who made the brave decision to take her life back for herself and for her children. To Brittnee, finding the right surgeon made all the difference. Dr. Johnston and team are passionate about helping patients improve their daily lives. In her 30s, Brittnee decided it was time to take back control of her life. She sought out Mercy Health – Perrysburg Weight Management Solutions.

“I have always had weight problems,” Brittnee shares. “I was put on steroids at a young age for severe asthma, and that contributed to my weight gain.” Despite years of trying everything from calorie counting to yo-yo dieting, nothing seemed to work—especially after having her children back-to-back in her early 20s. Everything changed when Brittnee welcomed her youngest child. “When I had my last child, weighing in at 400 lbs, I didn’t know how I was going to be able to run after my child.” That moment became her turning point.

Today, Brittnee is beyond grateful. “I’m thankful for the opportunity to basically start my life over and get to LIVE.” Her only regret? “Not doing this sooner.” Brittnee’s journey is a powerful reminder that it’s never too late to choose yourself—and your future.

We are closely monitoring the winter weather affecting our region.

All Mercy Health hospitals and emergency centers remain open and operational to provide essential care; however, some outpatient clinics and administrative offices may experience delays or closures due to power outages or travel conditions.

Visit MyChart or call the practice with any questions about your appointment, and if needed, a team member will reach out to assist with rescheduling. Patients are encouraged to check their appointment status before traveling.

Lord of time,
The end of a calendar year and the beginning of a new one is always an opportunity to reflect on where we have been and where we want to be going. We thank you for the gift of this past year. We thank you for the gift of time spent with family and friends, for the joy of laughter and for the opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

May our reflection on this past year open us to the gift of your wisdom, and may our anticipation of the year ahead strengthen us in the hope that we might grow closer to you. We offer this prayer in the name of the God who is the source of all that has been and all that will be. Amen.

This Christmas Eve, we reflect on this prayer as we prepare to celebrate Christmas.
God of life and peace,

The birth of your son Jesus in Bethlehem so long ago still brings joy and wonder to the hearts of lives of so many today. As we prepare to celebrate Christmas, give us hearts filled with gratitude for the gift of your son.

May your Holy Spirit inspire us that we might be faith-filled reflections of your presence and love for one another as Jesus is for us. May the voice of the angels that led the shepherds to Bethlehem remind us of our call to be the voice of so many ignored and marginalized in our world. May the star that moved the wise men to travel great distances to greet the savior guide us to those in need in our lives and communities. May Christ be born into our hearts and minds this Christmas that he might live in us on this holy day and throughout the year.

We pray with hearts overflowing with joy and gratitude. Amen.
