Christy and her team have been working tirelessly—day in and day out—to keep our RGH family well-fed, nourished, and smiling. Whether it’s a comforting meal, a warm cup of soup, or a special holiday spread, they pour love and care into everything they prepare.

The Rio Grande Hospital family is proud to serve as a donation center for SLV this season. As the holidays approach, many of our neighbors are facing difficult times and we want to do our part to ensure no one goes hungry in our community. This food drive is about gratitude, compassion, and unity. It’s not about politics or opinions — it’s about people helping people. Together, we can make a difference right here in the San Luis Valley.

One of Colorado’s Best-Kept Secrets… Isn’t a Secret Anymore

After just 100 days as Marketing & Development Coordinator at Rio Grande Hospital & Clinics, I can say without hesitation—this place is different. It’s special. It’s a community of people who show up every day with compassion, focus, and a genuine love for caring for others.

RGH has been honored with award after award—Top 100 Critical Access Hospital recognitions, Top 20 rankings, Quality – Outcomes - Perspective achievements, and so many others, (recently, RGH was honored not only as a Top 20 Critical Access Hospital but also as one of the Top 20 in Quality. In addition, the hospital received a Best Practice Award for outstanding performance in quality — placing RGH in the 99th percentile of all CAHs nationwide (out of 1377 hospitals this year) year after year; the excellence continues.

But what strikes me most isn’t the list of awards…it’s the humility behind them.

Our staff doesn’t chase recognition. They chase impact. They chase kindness. They chase the chance to make someone’s day a little brighter, a little easier, a little more hopeful. These are extraordinary people—superhuman, really—who care for our community day in and day out without asking for anything in return except a place to call home.

We’re beyond thrilled to share an incredible opportunity for our amazing 5th and 6th graders of Del Norte — a journey to Boston, Massachusetts! 🇺🇸✨

This isn’t just a school trip — it’s a powerful experience that brings learning to life. Our students will walk the same streets as our Founding Fathers, explore the birthplace of our nation, and connect classroom lessons to real-world history. From the Valley to the nation, they’ll see firsthand that they are part of the story still being written. 🕊️

🎨 The Campaign: “From the Valley to the Nation”
We’re coming together as a community to support our youth — helping them dream big, learn boldly, and represent our Valley with pride.
