The Madison Common Council passed a resolution Tuesday evening authorizing the purchase of a service contract to provide mental health checkups and follow-up visits for the Madison Fire Department.

🔥 Honored to be speaking at the Wisconsin State Fire Chiefs Association conference this week where I’ll be addressing a topic that hits close to home: mental health and wellness fatigue in the fire service.

As a psychologist who works closely with first responders, I see the toll this work can take — not just physically, but emotionally and mentally. It's time we start prioritizing mental readiness with the same commitment we give to physical readiness.
