As we recognize Mental Illness Awareness Week, it’s important to understand the difference between a hard time and a mental illness:

🌧 A hard time is like the weather — a passing storm of stress, sadness, or anxiety. The sun will shine again. These ups and downs are a normal part of life.

🌦 A mental illness is like the climate — the long-term pattern. If your emotional “climate” feels persistently cold, stormy, or unstable, no matter what’s happening around you, it may signal a deeper issue that needs professional attention.

Our Story

Gals Institute is a collaborative group of licensed clinicians providing therapy services, resiliency building workshops, one day events, and support groups in the Lake Country Area. Owner and founder, Deanna Marincic MSW LCSW, opened the doors over 3 years ago with a goal to provide prevention programs and research-based therapy, by caring providers that specialize in working with the family system. We have grown our team to having today a team of 13 providers. Our team consists of clinical and in-training licensed therapists who bring an incredible wealth of knowledge and expertise in their care for families. Additional clinical team members include a registered licensed dietician and all of our clients have access to our Mental Health Prescriber (NP).
