College isn’t a scam.

But pretending college is the only path to success?

That’s the real problem.

This kid drops out with a perfect ACT score, starts a land-clearing business, and pulls in $20k profit in month one.

Good for him. Truly.

But here’s the part everyone forgets.

For every story like this, there are thousands of young adults with no business plan, no work ethic, and no clue what they actually want… who hear “college is a scam” and think skipping school is some kind of shortcut to wealth.

It’s not.

I dropped out of college myself.

Then I joined the Army National Guard to pay for the rest of it because my parents couldn’t.

That decision changed my life.

Not because a degree makes you rich, but because discipline does.

College didn’t make me a millionaire.

Entrepreneurship did.

But college did give me structure at a time I desperately needed it.

Here’s the truth almost nobody online will say out loud:

College is a tool.
A business is a tool.
A trade is a tool.
The military is a tool.

None of them work without you doing the work.

And if your entire business model collapses the moment you stop working?

Congratulations, you didn’t escape the system — you just built your own job with extra steps.

So no… college isn’t a scam.

Selling certainty to impressionable kids on the internet is.

On a recent Joe Rogan podcast, Dr. Andrew Huberman just recommended a book he’s reading. I was very excited because I recommend the book to clients in my clinical practice on a regular basis. 5 Types of People Who Can Ruin Your Life by Dr. Bill Eddy is a fantastic book about the effect of psychopathy (Antisocial, narcissistic, and borderline behaviors) as well as high conflict personalities. You need to learn how to spot these behaviors/people and what to do to safely manage your relationships with them (when you’re stuck with them and you can’t get away). Read it ASAP!!

Clients and patients, push back against the current models of medicine and therapy. You are not a paycheck and your doctor/therapist is not a “provider.” Your health deserves excellant care, and all “providers” are not created equal despite what the industry wants you to believe. Where was your doctor/therapist trained? Can you speak with them when there’s a problem? Are they a member of your community or do they “just work there”? What are their practice and research interests? Ask questions and insist on quality care!

To my grandfather Cpt. Albert Gleason who flew over Normandy, my grandfather Sgt. Carl North who fought in Patton's 3rd Army in the battle of fhe Buldge and battle of the Rhineland, my uncle Jay Blackburn who served in Pacific in WWII, and my father Specialist Thomas Gleason who volunteered during Vietnam while "better men" ran for the boarder, some of you are gone but I am here, and I remeber your service. Last run was 4 miles in an hour and two minutes. Today’s run was 4 miles in 59.30. A little better today than before. Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to other people, or even who you were 10 years ago.

FYI...
