Thank you for all you do for the residents of Morrow and Delaware Counties!

🌟 We’re honored and grateful! 🌟
Syntero was recognized with the Quality of Life Award from at last night’s annual dinner!

Accepted by Syntero's Morrow County Clinical Services Manager, Sharon Dewey, and CEO Sara Harrison-Mills, this award is presented to a nonprofit that is making a positive impact on the lives of Morrow County residents. Syntero was nominated by our valued partners at the Delaware-Morrow Mental Health & Recovery Services Board (DMMHRSB) for our School-Based Prevention and Early Intervention services in all four Morrow County school districts.

Since 2017, Syntero has been proud to provide responsive, compassionate care to students, families, and school staff—helping youth build skills, strengthen resilience, and live healthier, more hopeful lives.

A heartfelt thank-you to DMMHRSB Executive Director Deanna Brant for the nomination and to the Morrow County Chamber of Commerce for recognizing Syntero’s commitment to improving quality of life across our communities.

We were proud to nominate Syntero for the Morrow County Chamber of Commerce's Quality of Life Award that they received Tuesday evening.

In 2017, Syntero began to rebuild School-Based services available in Morrow County and has continually enhanced programming in all four Morrow County School Districts. The clinicians embedded in each District ensure responsive and accessible programming and services tailored to district preferences. Their focus on early intervention prevents escalation of behavioral health concerns.

Services are highly rated by community partners, district staff, parents, and most importantly students. They provide both crisis services for individual students and follow-up postvention services following any district tragedy. These early intervention services that are focused on screening and skill building have saved lives. The collaborative work with parents helps ensure that skills can be utilized outside of the school setting and will help students move into adulthood well equipped to respond to life stressors and be healthy and productive young adults.

In addition to services available to students, they also provide a First Responder Program for District staff to assist with their unique support needs. We consider Syntero to be our “eyes and ears” in understanding the unique needs of youth and families within each District.

It was an emotional and inspiring morning for us as we hosted our 2025 Annual Meeting. This year's keynote speaker, former Ohio State football player and mental health advocate Harry Miller, shared his powerful story of recovery, perseverance and hope. We also presented awards to eight of our valued partners. We could not do this work without them.

We also took this opportunity to release our FY2024 Annual Report. You can download a copy here:

We were thankful to spend part of Monday with Morrow County Commissioners as they passed a proclamation recognizing September as National Recovery Month.

National Recovery Month is very important to our residents living in recovery from mental health and substance use challenges. This year's national theme, "Recovery is for Everyone: Every Person. Every Family. Every Community." reminds us that recovery doesn’t just improve one life — it strengthens entire communities.

The recovery that we see in our residents is only possible because of the work of our dedicated providers, including Syntero, Safe Harbor Peer Support Services, and Cornerstone of Hope. We couldn’t do this without them. We are proud to support a network of local organizations that provide compassionate, evidence-based treatment, prevention, and recovery services. We see the power of recovery in action — in the parents reunited with their children, in young people returning to school or work, and in individuals rediscovering hope and purpose.
