Spring Forward! In most of the U.S., clocks will be set ahead one hour on Sunday, March 8. Drowsy driving is a significant concern in the first week after the time change, with past studies showing an increase in collisions during this period.

Experts suggest starting to adjust to the time change incrementally in the week leading up to the change. Other recommendations include getting morning sunshine and sticking to a bedtime routine. Encourage your friends and family to drive with extra caution.

Winter weather can be pretty unpredictable! Stay SAFE when driving and always slow down on slick or snow-covered roads. In 2023, an estimated 101,390 police-reported crashes occurred during snow or sleet conditions.

Give snow plows plenty of space. Plows operate at slower speeds, make wide turns, stop frequently, and may overlap lanes or exit the roadway without much notice. If you’re traveling behind a plow, stay well back and pass only when it’s safe to do so.
