Join Our TEAM!

Some students walk into high school thinking about graduation.
Others walk in already thinking about what comes next.

In our Honors Health Science CTE program, students don’t just learn about healthcare — they experience it.
College-level coursework.
Real clinical environments.
Real patients.
Real expectations.

While still in high school, students earn dual credit through Marshall University and step into long-term and acute care facilities, gaining confidence, professionalism, and clarity about their future.

This isn’t for everyone.
It’s for students who are curious, motivated, and ready to challenge themselves — and for families who value purpose-driven education.

The future of healthcare starts earlier than you think. 🩺

🩺 Clinical Learning in Action 🩺

Mingo Central students participated in an all-day clinical experience at Logan Regional Medical Center, where they gained valuable hands-on exposure to a variety of healthcare departments. Students applied their clinical skills, observed new procedures, and learned firsthand about the expectations and responsibilities of healthcare professionals.

This experience provided meaningful real-world learning and increased student excitement and confidence as they prepare for future careers in healthcare. We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with Logan Regional Medical Center to support student learning and career readiness.

🩺🎓 Today our Mingo Central Health Science juniors and seniors had an incredible experience at Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College!

Students met with college staff, explored the wide range of healthcare programs available, learned how to navigate the virtual library, and received valuable financial aid guidance. They also had hands-on opportunities in the simulation labs to complete a scavenger hunt!

This visit was designed to help students prepare for making informed college decisions and to see firsthand what it takes to be successful in healthcare education and careers.

✨ We are excited to continue working closely with Southern WV Community & Technical College to help our students prepare for entry into healthcare programs and ensure they are truly college and career ready.

What an amazing experience for our future healthcare professionals! 👏💙

Student Leadership in Action!

Today, three outstanding Mingo Central Health Science students visited with our sophomores to share their experiences and insights about the Health Science program.

Dalaney Grimmett
Hannah Perkins
Madison Bolding

They spoke about the many advantages of starting health science in high school and how the program has helped prepare them for college coursework and the beginning of their healthcare careers.

From gaining hands-on skills to building confidence and career clarity, their message was clear: Health Science opens doors! 🩺

We are so proud of these students for stepping up as leaders and mentors and for showing our sophomores what’s possible when you start planning for your future early. 💙🖤
