Students organized and hosted a blood drive on Wednesday at Mingo Central, collecting 46 units of blood. This was followed by STOP the BLEED training on Thursday and Friday, where they learned life-saving techniques.

OPT IN OR OPT OUT?
Which would you choose?

Central Clinic Juniors took on a powerful discussion about organ donation after watching the Chris Henry story about his mother’s decision to save lives by donating his organs after a tragic accident.

Students compared the U.S. opt-in system with opt-out models in other countries, then created persuasive posters and debated their stances in a classroom rally.

Next up: turning their research into APA-style essays—building skills for future college healthcare courses!

Central Clinic Juniors have been examining legal and ethical issues in healthcare, conducting research on cases and rendering judgments from a legal and ethical standpoint as an acting ethics committee. Each group then created and presented a comprehensive presentation to their peers. This has been a highly engaging, thought-provoking, controversial, debatable, and enlightening week.

We have all learned a lot!

Senior Health Science Students embarked on a clinical orientation at Williamson Health and Wellness Center Facilities today, marking the beginning of an immersive journey.

They are excited to engage in hands-on learning and patient care tomorrow, eager to apply their skills and make a meaningful impact.

They can rotate organs, explore body systems, and see anatomy come to life right before their eyes. Learning has never been this interactive—or this fun!💀

Today marks an exciting day for Health Science and Exploring Healthcare Careers students as we were fortunate to host a visit from Air Evac 85, based in Logan, WV. Students had the opportunity to explore the helicopter, gaining insight into the equipment, experiences, and requirements associated with each profession. Additionally, our PTLW Engineering and Aerospace students joined us, engaging in a discussion with the pilot. We would also like to extend our appreciation to the Delbarton Fire Department for setting up a landing zone and assisting with this event.
