Williamson Memorial, a hospital in Mingo County, West Virginia is conducting its Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA). Every three years, we shall seek to gather feedback from our community about their health status. Your input helps us assess our community’s health status and identify both shared and unique health needs.
The results of the CHNA will guide Williamson Memorial's 2026-2029 community health improvement plan and ongoing efforts to promote our mission, "Health for Everyone."

Your insights and expertise on issues that impact our communities’ health are vital. We greatly appreciate your honest and thoughtful responses to this short, 11-question survey. Be assured your responses are anonymous and confidential. No individual answers or comments will be attributed to any participant or organization. Williamson Memorial will manage the survey process and safeguard confidentiality.

Students organized and hosted a blood drive on Wednesday at Mingo Central, collecting 46 units of blood. This was followed by STOP the BLEED training on Thursday and Friday, where they learned life-saving techniques.

OPT IN OR OPT OUT?
Which would you choose?

Central Clinic Juniors took on a powerful discussion about organ donation after watching the Chris Henry story about his mother’s decision to save lives by donating his organs after a tragic accident.

Students compared the U.S. opt-in system with opt-out models in other countries, then created persuasive posters and debated their stances in a classroom rally.

Next up: turning their research into APA-style essays—building skills for future college healthcare courses!

Central Clinic Juniors have been examining legal and ethical issues in healthcare, conducting research on cases and rendering judgments from a legal and ethical standpoint as an acting ethics committee. Each group then created and presented a comprehensive presentation to their peers. This has been a highly engaging, thought-provoking, controversial, debatable, and enlightening week.

We have all learned a lot!

Senior Health Science Students embarked on a clinical orientation at Williamson Health and Wellness Center Facilities today, marking the beginning of an immersive journey.

They are excited to engage in hands-on learning and patient care tomorrow, eager to apply their skills and make a meaningful impact.
