Socks are the most requested donation in the winter months. Providing clean, new socks helps not only keep individuals warm, it also helps prevent any foot-related health concerns.

We are proud to announce that Avera Heart Hospital and North Central Heart broke ground on their largest expansion since 2001. A new addition will house state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging services and administrative space. The expansion will make more space for clinic services for North Central Heart, the heart and vascular specialty clinic attached to the heart hospital. It is expected to open next winter. Avera is partnering with Emily's Hope to make free naloxone (also known as Narcan), available at numerous Avera locations across South Dakota. A box containing naloxone has already been installed at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, SD. Naloxone can save a life if someone takes too many opioids which is a major contributor to fatal overdoses in South Dakota. Everyone is encouraged to carry naloxone with them, especially if they know someone at risk for opioid overdose.
