April 6, 2026. Wicomico Fire Box 74-5, structure and field fire. Delmar, Salisbury and Hebron on the initial dispatch for a large fire on Connelly Mill Road. Units arrived to find several buildings, a vehicle and a field on fire. Additional Tankers and Brush units were requested, adding Parsonsburg, Sharptown and Laurel to the scene. One firefighter was transported to the hospital.

April 3, 2026. Wicomico Fire Box 16-3, residential structure fire. Delmar Ladder 74 and Engine 74-1 responded to assist Salisbury with a structure fire this morning. This was the first working fire for the new Ladder 74. The incident was located on Richmond Street in Salisbury.

At our Monthly meeting in March, Delmar Fire Department members Andrew Carpenter and Ryan Watson were awarded for their efforts combined with Laurel Fire Department on a successful rescue of a subject in a working house fire. The incident happened last year in Laurel on Sussex Highway. The combined crew found the subject and was able to remove him out of a window to awaiting EMS.

First Day of Spring Brings Two Wrecks

At 0724 on Friday March 20th, Laurel Fire Department was alerted for a vehicle accident with injuries on Stage Rd. Shortly after the assignment was updated to a rescue alerting Station 74 to assist. 81-5 (J. Hill) arrived on location and advised all subjects were out of the vehicle. Rescue 74 arrived and assisted Laurel units with debris clean up. Laurel EMS transported two patients to a local hospital.

At 1523 during the after school rush hour, DFD was alerted for a two vehicle MVC on State Street at Woodlawn Avenue. Crews arrived to find a two vehicle t-bone style accident with two patients. Delmar EMS transported both to a local trauma center.

Small Garage Fire

On March 4th, 2026 Delmar Fire Department along with Salisbury and Hebron Fire Departments were alerted for a structure fire. Units arrived to find a working fire in an attached garage. Crews made quick work of the small fire. All residents escaped without injuries.
