Russell "Frank" Gerard

Russell “Frank” Gerard, 83, of Yeoman, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. Frank was born on November 7, 1942, in Lafayette, to the late Russell and Blanche (Baer) Gerard.

On June 6, 1964, Russell married the love of his life; Nancy (Cottrell) Gerard, and she survives. They were blessed with nearly 62 years of a happy marriage.

Russell attended Royal Center Schools. Frank later worked at McGill’s Manufacturing in Monticello for nearly 22 years. Frank later worked at Rockland Flooring for several years until eventually retiring.

In his free time Frank enjoyed collecting toy tractors especially anything Case International. He was also an avid knife collector. Frank enjoyed taking trips to Shipshewana, and spending time outdoors. His most cherished time spent was with his loving family.

Frank is survived by his loving wife; Nancy Gerard, children; Judy (Sonny) Kaley, Timothy (Elaine) Gerard, Paul (Kim) Gerard, 5 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.

Frank was preceded in death by a brother; Kenneth Gerard, Lloyd Gerard, Lee Gerard, and a daughter; Katherine Lynn Gerard.

A graveside service honoring the life of Russell will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 10 am, located at Yeoman Cemetery, Carroll County.

Thomas Richard Gardner

Thomas Richard Gardner, 87, of Lafayette, passed away peacefully at IU Health Arnett in Lafayette, on Monday, April 6, 2026. Tom was born on June 14, 1938, in Mishawaka Indiana, to the late Richard Howard and Florence (Maier) Gardner.

Tom married Nancy Grace and later divorced in 1970. On March 7, 1974, Tom was later married to Donna May Hodges. Donna preceded Thomas in death on May 23, 2013. They were blessed with nearly 40 years of a happy marriage.

Thomas attended Riley High School in South Bend. He later went on to attend Purdue University where he earned a bachelor of science in electrical engineering, and later he attended the University of New Mexico where he graduated with a masters of science.

Tom had worked as a professional engineer and a project engineer at the Ed Grace Company in Lafayette for nearly 30 years before eventually retiring. In his free time Tom enjoyed golfing, bowling, and martini’s. He was also a member of the West Lafayette Golf and Country Club. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Lafayette. Tom also belonged to Tau Beta Pi for engineers. He enjoyed watching any and all of Purdue sports. His most cherished time spent was with his loving family.

Over the years Tom made many friends especially in Florida at Fairlane Acers where he would winter. Tom was incredibly outgoing and he never met a stranger.

Tom is survived by daughters; Sherri (Dennis) Crandall, Michelle (Brian) Harner, Nicole (Brett) Sanders, Marissa Gardner, Kathleen (Steve) Brinlee, Kristine Gardiner, son; Jeff (Joanne) Gardiner, brother; Rev. Alan (Lois) Gardner, 18 grandchildren, 31 great- grandchildren, and 1 great-great- grandchild.

Tom was preceded in death by his loving wife; Donna Gardner, a brother; John Gardner, and a grandson; Derek Merrell.

Friends may visit with the family beginning at 11 am. A funeral service honoring the life of Thomas will be held on Monday, April 13, 2026, at 1 pm, with Pastor Bob Duke officiating, located at Shirey Funeral Home, 121 N Union St, Delphi. Burial will follow at Masonic cemetery.

Lorraine Kay (Cagle) Weckerly

Lorraine Kay (Cagle) Weckerly, 78, of Delphi, passed away peacefully with her husband by her side, on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Milner Community Health Care in Rossville. Lorraine was born on September 6, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan, to the late L J and Alberta (Kuhl) Cagle.

On December 29, 1967, Lorraine married the love of her life; David Weckerly who survives. They were married at Allen Park Church of Christ in Allen Park, Michigan. They were blessed with nearly 59 years of a happy marriage.

Lorraine graduated from Taylor Center High School in Taylor Michigan. She later went on to attend Michigan Christian College and IU of Kokomo where she studied education, eventually earning a master’s degree.

Lorraine retired from Camden Elementary School where she dedicated over 30 years of service to education.

In her free time, Lorraine was heavily involved in the community. She was a PSI Iota Xi and Delta Kappa Gama member for over 50 years. She enjoyed volunteering at the Wabash and Erie Canal Park, and helping with the blood mobile. She was an active member of Elmwood Church of Christ in Lafayette. She also enjoyed reading and solving Sudoku puzzles. Her most cherished time spent was with her loving family.

Lorraine is survived by her loving Husband; Dave Weckerly, daughters; Lisa (Mark) Brown, Lara (Graeme) VanMatre, grandchildren; Bailey (Max) Jones, Marisa Brown, and Luke (Bradley) Brown.

She was preceded in death by her sisters; Norma Frick, and Marie Pinter.

A funeral service honoring the life of Lorraine will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 1 pm, with Pastor Joe Ruhl officiating, located at Elmwood Church of Christ, 2501 Elmwood Ave, Lafayette, IN 47904. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 11 am at the church. A graveside service will take place on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Yeoman Cemetery in Carroll County, at 10 am.

Memorial contributions honoring the life of Lorraine may be made out to Elmwood Church of Christ, Food Pantry.

Jane (Leibert) Ullery

Jane (Leibert) Ullery, 81, of Delphi, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 2, 2026. Jane was born on September 13, 1944, in Lafayette, to the late John and Martha (Lynch) Leibert.

Jane graduated from Rossville High School. On August 18, 1995, Jane married Ronald Ullery, who preceded her in death on April 11, 2011. Jane had worked as a cook for the Carroll County Sherrif’s Department for several years before eventually retiring. In her free time, Jane loved to be outdoors. She loved nature, and especially tending to her garden. Jane had a passion for helping people and would always give the shirt off her back to help someone in need.

Jane is survived by her sisters, Deloris (Greg) Terry, Regina (John) Morris; a longtime companion, Kastel Parks; nephew, Lee (Jennifer) Gill; niece, Ami (Mike) Derrickson; Monica (Steve) Hanes; great- niece; Mikilah (Lance), nephew; Alan Morris, and great-nephews, Caleb Hanes, Landon and Logan Gill, Kaleb Haynes, and Kashton Hanes.

Jane was preceded in death by her husband; Ronald Ullery, and a son; Charles Babb.

A memorial service honoring the life of Jane will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 1 pm, with Pastor Bob Duke officiating, located at Shirey Funeral Home, 121 N Union St, Delphi, IN, 46923. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 11 am. Burial will follow at Pyrmont Cemetery, rural Carroll County.

Thomas E. Soper

Thomas E. Soper, 82, of Delphi, passed away peacefully at his home in West Lafayette, surrounded by his loving family on Friday, March 20, 2026. Thomas was born on February 4, 1944, in Albion, Michigan, to the late Armond and Leona (Humphrey) Soper.

On September 29, 1972 Thomas married the love of his life, Penny Smith. They were blessed with nearly 41 years of a happy marriage. Penny preceded Thomas in death on June 27, 2013.

Thomas attended Delphi High School. He joined the United States Navy from 1962 - 1964, and later as a reserve from 1964 - 1967. Thomas later worked for Eagle Hauling for several years and was an owner and an operator at Ras Trucking Company. Thomas eventually retired after 30 years of trucking.

In his free time, Thomas was a member of the American Legion Post 75 in Delphi, and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Lafayette. Thomas also had a passion for trap shooting. His most cherished time spent was with his loving family and especially his grandchildren.

Thomas is survived by a son; Romney (Gienna Garcia) Soper, and granddaughters; RaeAnn (Billy Davis) Soper, Ashley (Adam Blankeship) Soper, sisters; Judy Shaffer, Pat Brinkham, Jerri Wilson, grandchildren; Jackson Bryan, Aaliyah Mossholder, Wyatt Bryan, and Jayden Vandeventer.

Thomas was preceded in death by his loving wife; Penny Soper, a brother; Floyd Steven Modjaska, and a sister; Dorothy Whiteman.

A graveside service honoring the life of Thomas will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 1 pm, located at Zion Citizens Cemetery, rural Carroll County, where Military Rites will be performed.

Rickey O. Jones, 76, of Delphi, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Carroll Manor in Delphi. Rickey was born on August 15, 1949, in Lebanon, IN, to the late Wilbur and Luella (Lowe) Jones. He married Cheryl Jones on January 1, 1989 and she preceded him in death in 1996.

Rickey was a graduate of Delphi High School, class of 1967. After high school Rickey went on to study diesel mechanics. He later worked as a welder for Wabash National and several farms for nearly 20 years.

In his free time, Rickey enjoyed attending antique tractor clubs. He had a true passion for all tractors, especially for John Deere. Rickey was also known to enjoy dancing with anyone that would join in. His most cherished time was spent with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.

Rickey is survived by his sons, Denis (Pamela) Jones and Keith (Melissa) Jones; daughters, Resa (Jeff) Bayless and Brandi Jones; siblings, Patricia Jones, Sandra Davidon, Judy Listenberger, Jack Jones, Jeff Jones. Rickey is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service honoring the life of Rickey will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 10 am, with Pastor Bob Duke officiating. Friends may visit with the family the evening before on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, beginning at 4 pm, located at Shirey Funeral Home, 121 N. Union St., Delphi. A private family graveside service will be held at Rockfield Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial Contributions honoring the life of Rickey may be made out to Faithful Friends of Carroll Manor. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.

Thomas "Tom" Howard Ginn

Thomas “Tom” Howard Ginn, 80, of Delphi, passed away unexpectedly at IU Health Arnett in Lafayette, on Thursday, March 5, 2026. Thomas was born in Lafayette on August 16, 1945, to the late Howard and Helen Marjorie (Rush) Ginn.

On February 8, 1974 Tom married the love of his life Patrica (Houser) Ginn. They were blessed with 38 years of a happy marriage. Patricia preceded Thomas in death on December 24, 2012.

Tom was a 1963 graduate of Delphi High School and later joined the Army National Guard. Tom had worked at Myers Young for several years and also for Downham Trucking. He later worked at Indiana Packers for several years before eventually retiring.

In his free time Tom enjoyed woodworking and being outdoors. Most of all Tom enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving Tom are sisters; Mary Jane Hunter, Marjorie Lou Ginn, nephew; Scott Hunter, niece; Teri Boyd, 4 great- Nephews, 1 great-niece, 3 great-great- nephews, and 2 great- great- nieces.

Memorial contributions honoring the life of Thomas may be made to the American Cancer Society.

A graveside service honoring the life of Thomas will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 1 pm, with Pastor Bob Duke officiating, located at Pleasant Run Cemetery in rural Delphi.
