Skincare Mistakes You Might Be Making

• Exfoliating every day: Over-exfoliation can compromise the skin barrier, leading to irritation, sensitivity, and breakouts.
• • Skipping SPF: Sunscreen isn’t optional. Daily SPF is the most important step in preventing premature aging, hyperpigmentation, and collagen breakdown, even on cloudy days and even if you’re mostly indoors.
• Mixing incompatible products: Certain ingredients, like vitamin C and retinol, shouldn’t be layered together in the same routine. Using them incorrectly can cause irritation and reduce their effectiveness.

Why MRI Monitoring Matters for Silicone Implants

Silicone breast implants are designed to be durable and long-lasting, but they aren’t considered lifetime devices.

Over time, changes can occur that aren’t always noticeable on physical exam alone.

MRI is the most accurate way to evaluate implant integrity and detect what’s known as a silent rupture, a rupture that doesn’t cause obvious symptoms but can still be present.
Routine imaging allows us to monitor the implants, ensure they remain intact, and address any concerns early, long before they become a problem.

If you have silicone implants and aren’t sure when your last imaging was, or if you’ve never had one, this is an important conversation to have with your surgeon.
