At Brain Matters Research (BMR), one thing we want every participant to know is this: you are NOT a guinea pig. 💙🧠

Before you ever join a study, we walk you through every detail, answer every question, and make sure you feel completely comfortable. Participation is always voluntary — and you can withdraw at any time.

We care about you as a person, not just a participant. Your well-being, dignity, and safety come first. Always.

And together, through safe and ethical research, we’re working to discover new medications that can truly change lives for the better — for you, your family, and future generations. 💜

At Brain Matters Research (BMR), we often get asked:
“What’s the difference between normal aging and something more serious like Alzheimer’s?” 🤔🧠

As we age, it’s completely normal to occasionally forget names, misplace keys, or walk into a room and forget why. That’s called normal aging memory changes. You may remember it later — and it doesn’t disrupt your daily life.

But memory loss from Alzheimer’s disease is different. It can include forgetting recently learned information, repeating the same questions, struggling with familiar tasks, confusion with time or place, or noticeable personality changes. These symptoms tend to progress and interfere with everyday living.

The earlier you get checked, the better. Early evaluation can provide clarity, access to treatment options, support resources, and even opportunities to participate in clinical research that helps advance care for future generations. 💜

If you or a loved one have concerns about memory changes, don’t ignore them. Getting evaluated is a powerful first step.

BMR staff showing the love in the best way—by hand. ❤️✂️
For this Valentine’s Day, our team took time to create handmade cards for our patients as a small reminder of how much they are appreciated. It’s moments like these that reflect the heart behind what we do every day: caring, connection, and community. 💕

Clinical trials exist to help people — and that starts with the volunteers who make them possible.
Whether someone participates to help themselves, support a family member, or make a difference for others, their choice matters.

At BMR, our role is clear: to care for, support, and protect every volunteer throughout their research journey. Safety, transparency, and compassion guide everything we do, because helping people always comes first. 🤝🔬
