Moments like this remind us why we do what we do. ๐ Just before Christmas Eve, our , FL, Veteran Liaison, Nancy Auster, met Korean War Veteran Howard Davis, who wanted nothing more than to go home for the holidays. Our team made that happen.
A few days later, Nancy returned for a bedside salute, and what a difference it made. Mr. Davis greeted us in his suit jacket, medals and hat, smiling proudly. Chaplain Joshua shared words of courage and offered a prayer.
His room filled with family, friends and even members of the local police department in their Salute to the Military patrol car. Volunteer Ada Tumelty created a stunning Purple Heart blanket and Army pillow that meant the world to him.
It was an honor to celebrate his service and sacrifice. These are the moments that stay with us. โจ
