Intermountain Health Delta Community Hospital welcomed its first baby of 2026! 🎉👶

Westley Jacobson was born at 12:51 a.m. on January 9, weighing 6 lbs. 11 oz. and measuring 19.25 inches. He is the son of Zachary and Kiersten Jacobson of Garrison, UT.

The proud parents praised the care they received from our nurses and Dr. Nielson and were thrilled to learn Westley earned the special title of “New Year Baby.” Congratulations!

We were honored to host Congresswoman Celeste Maloy and her team at Intermountain Health’s Delta Community Hospital this week! She met with our leadership, toured our new cancer center, and discussed key priorities for supporting rural healthcare in Utah.

Topics included improving access to specialty care, reducing travel burdens for patients, strengthening rural hospitals, and supporting local pharmacies. When a stroke is suspected, every minute counts. A CT (computed tomography) scan is essential to quickly determine the type of stroke and guide life-saving treatment decisions. During an untreated ischemic stroke, 1.9 million neurons are lost every minute - making speed absolutely critical.

Amy Rodriguez is a lung screening navigator at Lutheran Hospital in Denver and helps guides patients through early detection of lung cancer.

Amy helps to oversee 1,400 patients with the goal of catching cancers at level one or two.

The American Lung Association’s State of Lung Cancer report for 2025 shared that in Colorado 31.7% of lung cancer cases are caught at an early state, which is higher than the national rate of 28.1%.

Amy has been called a lifeboat: someone to trust, someone to call when the path ahead feels overwhelming.
