We didn't move from homelessness without FAITH. Nobody does. We got assistance along the way. We eventually received welfare which allotted us food stamps, BUT we had to provide an address which we didn't have. But Spirit provided an address to us and we got around the obstacle not by our struggling to do it.

Upon reading my goal for winning I did NOT reveal that there is NO center than assists homeless residents here. I plan to change that so we can have space for sleeping shelter from cold, toiletries, food, place to shower, etc. for male and female.

Homelessness, more than this, is worth our gratitude for all it taught us. We are survivors and thrivers and it taught us about forgiveness of the theft of our money saved up for our marriage and rent that created the homelessness we experienced.

There were, nor are there any rule books for living as a homeless person in America. We had no such book to avail ourselves to when we were suddenly experiencing it. Upon the day of our marriage, a former band member helped himself to our savings we had "hidden" in our bedroom. He tried to make it look like a robber had been there, but Spirit told us he was the one. All we had was our 2 guitars, a paper bag for our clothes, blanket and our faith.
We forgave him only he didn't know it because we never saw him again until 7 years later on the same street we used to perform live together. His life was "messed" up and he looked like a "bum" trying to hide from us.

When we slept in that abandoned apt bldg, we told God in prayer we needed someone or an angel to protect us and watch over us.

We didn't have to wait long. Our Angel came sat in a chair while we slept and kept our guitars safe and us protected.
We want to keep our homeless safe and helped back on their feet like we were helped!!!!!

Thank you for reading my profile and voting. I am making a difference and your vote is helping to make it more of a reality.
We didn't have access to bathroom facilities, so we always had to look for alcoves to perform in that were near a Fish n Chips, a Knobby's Chicken restaurant, Mcky Dees or Burger King. That's where we could go and clean up for the day or night.
Sometimes when we could, we'd save up enough money to spend the night in a flea bag hotel for $11 a night. We'd get a bed, common shower, sink and clean sheets.
