Join us on April 9th for our support group for parents of young children with ASD. This support group is for parents of 2–11-year-olds who are registered with UCF CARD. This can be a great place to ask the facilitator, or other parents, questions about how they are navigating this with their child, resources that have worked, and those that haven’t worked. Some parents come to listen, others come to vent, and others come with questions – all are acceptable! We meet monthly via zoom on the second Thursday of each month and would love to have you join us!

🐣💛 Fun Friday: Hop Little Bunnies! 🐰

Looking for a fun, Easter-themed activity to get your child moving and engaged? Try Hop Little Bunnies—a simple music + movement activity kids love!

How it works:
▶️ Play “Hop Little Bunnies” on YouTube
▶️ Start by “sleeping” (laying down or crouching)
▶️ When the song says “wake up,” hop like a bunny!

Why we love it at BFC:
✨ Builds imitation skills
✨ Encourages following directions
✨ Supports gross motor movement
✨ Creates opportunities for shared play and engagement

Pro tip:
Pause briefly after giving the direction (“Hop!”) before modeling—this gives your child a chance to respond independently.

Simple, fun, and a little chaotic in the best way. (Expect lots of giggles.)

Have you tried this one before? 🐇

Sometimes the biggest shift is simply how we see others 💙

When we slow down and let go of expectations,
we start to notice different perspectives, strengths, and all the little things that make each person unique.

Acceptance isn’t about changing someone—
it’s about understanding, supporting, and making space for who they already are.

April is Autism Acceptance Month 💙

Not just awareness. Not just understanding.
Acceptance.

Acceptance is seeing your child for who they are—
and knowing they are already enough.

It’s recognizing that differences in communication, behavior, and learning aren’t something to “fix,”
but something to understand, support, and nurture.

Because the goal was never to make children fit into the world around them.
The goal is to help them feel safe, confident, and able to be themselves in it.

At BFC, we believe:
• Every child deserves to be understood
• Every child deserves support that meets them where they are
• Every child deserves the opportunity to grow, learn, and thrive—without losing who they are

We’re here to build skills, yes—
but also to build trust, independence, and joy.

This month, we invite you to pause and reflect:
What does acceptance look like for your child?

🍀 Wishing our BFC families a day that’s golden, lucky, and full of good moments! 💛

At BFC, we know that “luck” is really built through consistency, hard work, and celebrating the small wins that lead to big progress. From first skills to meaningful independence, every step forward matters—and we’re proud of all of them.

We’re so grateful for our incredible clients, families, and staff who make this work so special every day.

Here’s to growth, progress, and a little extra luck along the way 🍀✨

Before teaching begins, connection comes first.

In ABA therapy, we call this pairing—when a therapist focuses on building a positive relationship with a child by joining their play, sharing preferred activities, and becoming part of the fun. When a child learns that good things happen when their therapist is around, trust begins to grow.

That trust becomes the foundation for learning.

At Behavioral Foundation Centers (BFC), we prioritize connection because meaningful progress happens when children feel safe, supported, and excited to engage.

Sometimes the most important step in therapy isn’t teaching a skill—it’s simply being the fun.
