🍀 Wishing our BFC families a day that’s golden, lucky, and full of good moments! 💛

At BFC, we know that “luck” is really built through consistency, hard work, and celebrating the small wins that lead to big progress. From first skills to meaningful independence, every step forward matters—and we’re proud of all of them.

We’re so grateful for our incredible clients, families, and staff who make this work so special every day.

Here’s to growth, progress, and a little extra luck along the way 🍀✨

Before teaching begins, connection comes first.

In ABA therapy, we call this pairing—when a therapist focuses on building a positive relationship with a child by joining their play, sharing preferred activities, and becoming part of the fun. When a child learns that good things happen when their therapist is around, trust begins to grow.

That trust becomes the foundation for learning.

At Behavioral Foundation Centers (BFC), we prioritize connection because meaningful progress happens when children feel safe, supported, and excited to engage.

Sometimes the most important step in therapy isn’t teaching a skill—it’s simply being the fun.

When a child is unsure what to do next… behavior often fills the gap.

Visual supports change that.

A quick visual schedule, choice board, or task card can help children clearly see what’s expected, what comes next, and how to move through their day. For many learners, visuals reduce frustration, support transitions, and build independence in ways verbal instructions alone often can’t.

At Behavioral Foundation Centers (BFC), our team uses individualized visual supports to help children build routines, develop independence, and feel more confident navigating daily activities both at the center and at home.

Sometimes the smallest supports create the biggest progress. 💙

🌍💚 Today is World Mental Health Day.
At Behavioral Foundation Centers, we’re taking a moment to recognize our entire BFC community — our incredible staff, families, and clients — and everyone whose mental health journey deserves care, compassion, and understanding.

We’re thinking of those who…
⭐ are waiting for the support they need
⭐ care for others who are struggling
⭐ are fighting to improve mental health services
⭐ have lost someone to su***de
⭐ are finding the courage to ask for help
⭐ have had thoughts of ending their life

Mental health matters every day of every month — but today we pause to raise awareness, extend kindness, and remind one another that it’s okay to ask for help — and it’s always okay to not be okay. 💛

Together, let’s continue creating spaces where every person feels seen, supported, and valued.

MOAS will open an hour early on the first Sunday of each month for Sensory Sundays. This program is designed for families of children, teenagers, and young adults with disabilities who are neurodiverse, on the autism spectrum, or have sensory processing disorders or cognitive disabilities. The museum will be closed to the general public to allow visitors to enjoy the museum in a calm environment. At 11:00am, visitors can enjoy a sensory-friendly children's planetarium show! Shows will rotate throughout the year. Email our Youth and Family Program Manager, Nicole Messervy, at nicolem@moas.org for the show schedule. Advanced RSVP for Sensory Sunday is required.

Purchase your admission in advance online or by calling the Museum at 386-255-0285. Register Online: MOAS.org. Free for members or with paid museum admission.
