The battle against breast cancer is more than just physical. The National Institutes for Health posted that, "Women with breast cancer may experience a range of emotions, including anxiety, sadness, anger, and frustration. They may also have concerns about the disease recurrence, physical symptoms, body image, sexual dysfunction, and treatment."

Additionally, side effects of chemotherapy and hormonal therapy may contribute to symptoms of depression, anxiety, and mood swings in some people.

If you know someone fighting this battle, please be kind and offer your support. As always, please book your screening, too.

According to data available through Susan G. Komen, "Breast cancer is the most common cancer in pregnant and postpartum women. It occurs most often between ages 32 and 38.

About 1 case of breast cancer in 3,000 pregnancies is diagnosed each year.

When women are pregnant or breastfeeding, their breasts naturally become more tender and enlarged. This may make it harder to find a lump or notice other changes in the breasts."
