Meet Autyme and Destinee, a dynamic duo of patient care techs from our 8th Floor, and the latest recipients of our BEE (Be Exceptional Every day) Award. Their nomination came from a grateful nurse who shared this touching story of how these two helped her assist a patient in need.

"My patient shared with me that she lived home by herself an apartment in Bells. When EMS arrived to bring her into the hospital, her phone and dentures were left behind. This caused her great concern as she realized that she would not be able to eat without her dentures or let her neighbors that have been taking care of her know that she was at the hospital. As her nurse, I offered to go pick up these items from her home, and the patient agreed. Autyme was present during this conversation and offered to go with me after work, so I would not be driving late by myself. As soon as Destinee heard, she too offered to assist. As a team, we all successfully found all her belongings and delivered them to her. She was very glad she would be able to eat the things she likes instead of needing to be on a puréed diet."

Thank you ladies for going above and beyond for our patients!

Help us celebrate Jacqueline Hernandez, BSN, RN, our latest DAISY Foundation Award recipient! We are so grateful to each person that takes the time to submit nominations. And because we know that nurses expect a lot from those in their own profession, it is especially gratifying when a nomination comes from another nurse who has experienced exceptional care for themselves or a special family member. That was just the case in this nomination for Jacqueline...

"I am writing to express my heartfelt appreciation for Nurse Jacqueline Hernandez on the 5th floor, who cared for my dad. As a nurse myself, I know firsthand how challenging it can be to care for patients recovering from a stroke—both physically and emotionally. It takes patience, skill, and compassion in equal measure. Jaqueline displayed all of these qualities and more. She was never “rattled” or “put out” by our many questions or requests, no matter how small. Instead, she approached every interaction with calm professionalism, empathy, and genuine kindness. Her ability to balance excellent clinical care with such humanity truly stood out. She treated my father with respect and dignity, taking time to ensure he was comfortable and understood what was happening, even in moments of frustration or confusion. Her
steady presence brought comfort to our entire family during a very difficult time. I even received a call from her at 8pm (long after her shift was over) to give me an update on his care and I truly appreciated that. Nurses like Jaqueline embody the very best of our profession. Her compassion, composure, and dedication reflect a level of excellence that deserves recognition and appreciation."

Have you had an exceptional experience from a nurse within our TMC family? We'd love to hear about it. Share your story here via our online nomination form: 🌼 🖇️ bit.ly/TMC_Daisy_Nurse

We were honored to have Texas State Senator Brent Hagenbuch (center) visit our hospital late yesterday afternoon. Robert Crawley (left), a member of our TMC Board of Governors and Mayor of the City of Denison, joined him as they met with our COO/Interim CEO Jason Madsen (right). In his first year of office, Senator Hagenbuch serves on the Criminal Justice, Education K-16, Transportation and Veterans Affairs Committees and is Vice Chair of the Nominations Committee. We want to thank Senator Hagenbuch for his interest and support in the challenges and opportunities facing healthcare and for taking the time to visit and learn more about the work we do in providing quality care to the people of the Texoma region.

Children's voices rang through our lobby this morning as students from Sherman Independent School District's Parker Elementary School made a stop at TMC as part of their traveling tour to spread Christmas cheer throughout the area! We had a lobby full of people to cheer them on and watch this talented group of musicians sing and dance. What a great start to our Monday!

And if you're in the area this Thursday, join us at 2:00 pm as carolers from Lakeway United Methodist Church join us to sing too! 🎵 🎵 🎵
