This looks like a great local summer program!
Kids Blaze New Trails with Outdoor Adventure Program in Harrison
HARRISON, MAINE – This summer, kids in the Lakes Region can swap screens for streams, and classrooms for campfires, thanks to the Trail Blazers program hosted by Miss Maple’s Nature House.
Designed for children ages 6 to 11, Trail Blazers offers four unique, three-day outdoor sessions running from late June through early August. The program is 100% outdoors and led by a Registered Maine Guide who brings expertise in wilderness skills, risk-based play, outdoor safety, and nature-based education.
“Trail Blazers was created to get kids outside and reconnected with nature,” said Wendy, the program director. “It’s all about learning new skills, making friends, and having unplugged adventures that build confidence and curiosity.”
The cost is $150 per session and includes field trips, snacks, workbooks, and program supplies.
With a base camp located at 303 Naples Road in Harrison, the program draws families from surrounding towns looking for meaningful, local summer enrichment that doesn’t rely on devices or screens.
Registration is now open, and spots are expected to fill quickly. Parents can sign up by visiting www.MissMaplesNatureHouse.com or by contacting Wendy at (207) 615-9398 or MissMaplesNatureHouse@gmail.com.
“It’s not just a camp—it’s a chance for kids to build real-world skills while falling in love with the natural world around them.” - Miss Maple
